[1/4 FINALS = WIN] LADIES' CHAMPIONSHIP SINGLES

25 = Me
18 = Belinda

[PART 1] Game was abandoned due to wet weather and a lighting show. I was up at the call of game with 22 vs 18.

[PART 2] Ended with a win of the 1/4 final. Belinda played well and there were plenty of changes in the head. This means if Belinda had the shot, I came and got it. Vice versa.

This competition has a pathway to the Champion of Club Champions in July 2026.

The semi final is against Lorraine next week. She is a solid player and I'm looking forward to our game.

Thanks to Mark and Gary (groundsmen from Drayton) who keep the grounds in top shape for competition!

[LADIES A GRADE SINGLES FINAL] THIS IS WHAT LOSING (RUNNER UP) LOOKS LIKE

I know I played a strategic game. When you get to this level, it's usually (says me) 2 ends that costs the game. I made 4 strategic moves (game changes) and I am really happy I followed through with them.

"Costing the game" means, did they get their line, did they gain confidence, did they start relaxing into the game, did I lose concentration, did I not reset for that 1 bowl, did I start to lift, did I find that weighted shot? All of those sorts of things.

I know which 2 ends they were.... I'll keep that to myself for now. Just for the record, its not always the "big ends".

The conditions were rain, wet, muggy, windy, gusty and calm. The grounds ran true and its with great gratitude to our amazing green keepers Mark and Gary, who do a top job!

I have been making technical changes and I'm really happy with the progression.

MASTERS EVENT THIS SUNDAY AT O'QUINN OVAL (corner of O'Quinn and Fifth Ave, Toowoomba)
Toowoomba Masters Athletics

This is for the legends who are 30+ years old (male and females). Normally the events are run in Brisbane. First time it's nice and close.

I'll be neck deep in a 2 day lawn bowls event. Tryna win some $$. With kind scheduling, I'll be at the next one.

If you're feeling like this isn't for you, it is. I have plenty of patients asking about how to get involved and how to train for these events.

HOT TIP: You can 100% give the shot put a crack and stand start for the 60m. This is just bare minimum. It will give you the confidence that you can do this. Literally, warm up and do your best.

You might get to race against our Dr Sheila Cook from Toowoomba Endocrine & Diabetes. With The Reich Method she ranks 3rd in the world for 60m. This is a big deal. World ranking... She came to my Run Club 8 months after a knee reconstruction. One year later, that world ranking was hers!

Think Feet Podiatry's patients have the EXACT SAME rehabilitation that we gave her for her success.

Ask me anything. I've been around Masters Athletics for ages and I am a big advocate of individual training for personal goals and success.

THE BEST THING THAT CAN HAPPEN: You go and get a qualified (electronic) time or distance and I can work with you on improving that and staying injury free. Try as many events as you can.

WON THE A-GRADE SEMI FINALS
LAWN BOWLS

Had a great game to get through to the finals in a couple of weeks. The men have one more game, and then I'll join them on the big stage with whoever wins the other Ladies semi-finals.

Belinda played well and kept me on my toes the whole game!

FIRST TIME WEARING THE BAGGY GREEN FOR Downs District Bowls Association

Our district ranges from Millmeran, Crows Nest, Laidley and everywhere in between.

I'm super happy with how I went. I played 2nd position in the ladies 4's. We played well as a team and we definitely put in a solid campaign!

It was a pleasure to play against the strong Gold Coast Tweed District Bowls Association.

After a whole bunch of knockout games, in the final, I played against Karen Bradford. A tough competitior.

Gotta give praise to the groundsmen who keep Rink 46 is top shape. I've got a fantastic club and crew behind me.

Next year, I'll have a crack at the A grade.
