Lifeline Darling Downs & South West QLD Ltd

Lifeline Darling Downs & South West QLD Ltd We offer a broad range of services focused on strengthening communities and empowering people. For Our Values: Integrity. Dignity. Openness. Honesty.

Lifeline Toowoomba, as it was originally known, was formed by a group of ministers in 1975. It was developed to establish a 24 hour telephone counselling service for the people of Toowoomba. Lifeline Darling Downs & South West Queensland Ltd (LDDSWQL) is now a company limited by guarantee, governed by a voluntary Board of Directors. A large regional NGO (non government organisation), with 160 plus paid staff, over 400 dedicated volunteers, an annual turnover exceeding $12M per annum and covering an extensive area with a population of approximately 255,000 people, LDDSWQL is committed to sustainable growth that works within the parameters of its Vision, Mission and Values. We partner with the wider community, working from a strengths based approach. That is, working with people in order to empower them to make the best possible decisions in their own life, and for their own community. A values based organisation, it remains committed to ensuring people always remain its focus. LDDSWQL relies on financial support from local communities, corporate sponsors and the Queensland State and Federal Governments. You can help support the services LDDSWQL provides by making donations through our clothing bins, shopping with our wide network of retail shops, making a cash donation or through in-kind support such as through volunteering. Accountability. Respect

Our Operating Principles

Transparency:
LDDSWQL work with people in ways that are open, clear and honest, providing comprehensive information about the roles and responsibilities of the organisation. Collaboration:

♻️ Community partnership in action ♻️

A huge thank you to Ability Enterprises for collecting nearly 100 blue plastic waste bins from our site!

With limited recycling options available locally, these bins had been sitting unused for years. At the same time, we spend almost $200,000 each year managing waste from illegal dumping across our sites — making sustainable, preventative solutions more important than ever.

Thanks to Ability Enterprises and their strong commitment to the circular economy, these bins will now be given a second life. The plastic will be processed into pellets for commercial use, keeping valuable materials out of landfill and contributing to long‑term environmental sustainability.

💙 Want to support our efforts?
Donations toward waste removal help us keep our sites safe, reduce environmental impact, and redirect more funds to frontline community services.

We are incredibly grateful for partnerships with local not‑for‑profits who share our passion for environmental responsibility and innovative, community‑led solutions.

Together, small actions create meaningful impact.

A heartfelt thank you to the Lions Club of Toowoomba West

Yesterday, we were honoured to receive a generous donation from the Lions Club of Toowoomba West, raised through the beloved Toowoomba's Christmas Wonderland event.

This annual tradition brings joy to thousands across our community, and we are deeply grateful for the dedication, hard work, and countless volunteer hours that make it possible year after year. Your continued support helps us provide vital services across the Darling Downs and South West Queensland, and we are truly thankful.

To the incredible group of volunteers and the event organisers who pour their hearts into making Christmas Wonderland such a magical experience - thank you! Your commitment creates lasting impact for our community.

We also congratulate our fellow beneficiaries, the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation and Toowoomba Hospice, who do such important work in our region.

Thank you, Lions Club of Toowoomba West Inc for your long-standing support and generosity. Our community is stronger because of you.
