🔆Anger: Would You Like That Gift-Wrapped, Ma’am?**

Anger is chaotic, dangerous even—something that shouldn’t be in your life if you want to be a “good” person. Right? At least, that’s what we’re taught.

But anger has a way of demanding to be seen. For years, I thought of it as something to avoid, to smooth over, to silence. I assumed it was just frustration—a raw, unrefined emotion that made me weak.

What I didn’t realise was that anger wasn’t here to destroy me. It was here to wake me up…

One night, my anger erupted within- but this time, instead of resisting it, I paused. I stood still. I closed my eyes and turned toward it.

And in that stillness, anger revealed something I hadn’t expected. Anger wasn’t the chaos I feared; it was a portal. A thread leading me to forgotten parts of myself—moments where I’d silenced my own needs, shrunk myself to fit, or abandoned my voice. Anger wasn’t attacking me. It was inviting me to reconnect.

Here’s the truth: anger isn’t the only emotion that holds a message. Fear, sadness, even joy—all of them are pieces of a puzzle, fragments of something far greater. They’re not obstacles. They’re signposts, pointing us toward the parts of ourselves we’ve yet to reconnect with. Just waiting for us to unwrap them.

Every Thursday in an intimate setting in Torquay, I’m holding meditation sessions at 930am, just post the kid drop off time. It’s a chance to press pause on the racing mind, to connect with your centre so the suffering and the tension fall away.
We focus on a certain theme for each session, do a little gentle breath work followed by guided journey into meditation and then end with sound healing. And then… it’s tea time and a chance to chat. $20 or pay what you can.

Someone said to me yesterday that they thought I was always happy, popular and had it together. Hahaha.

I do NOT get dressed by birds in the morning.
I am not a monk sitting in peace in lotus position every day. 🧘‍♀️
That perception is NOT reality.
Let’s get CONNECTED to truth for a moment…

👉I shouted at my daughter yesterday for saying Mum for the 1000th time (secretly wishing I had noise cancelling headphones).
👉I have a wine headache from last night. 🍷
👉Calls to my friends have been put on the back burner for wayyyy to long (Sorry guys!)
👉I only wash my hair once a week because I can’t be arsed (I barely look in the mirror anyway so I won’t notice!)
👉Some days after meditation, I immediately shout at my partner over something so trivial . 😬
👉My laundry is piling so high it’s nearly touching the roof (it’s becoming a Jenga game to see when it will topple.)
👉I hear that self doubt voice daily and have times I bury my head in the sand by binge watching The Walking Dead 🧟‍♀️

I’m sooo tired of pretending. Does anyone hear what I’m saying? Feeling what I’m feeling? We aren’t plastic barbie dolls or stepford wives who never get messy.

We are all just doing our best to find our way. Life is messy. And that is so beautifully perfect and FUN!

A moment of truth. Putting yourself out to the world isn’t easy. Showing up is damn scary. My decision to start a podcast is challenging me in so many ways.
It means I can’t hide.
I could fail.
I could get laughed at.
It means I will no doubt endure MORE eye rolls and judgements, knock downs even.

But I’ll tell you what is harder for me…
Sitting by when so many of us are stuck, alone, lost and hurting; struggling to find connection, and joy.

That is harder to me than all the failure or mockery anyone can throw at me.

I made the decision some time ago to not sit on my hands just so I can hide or pretend to fit in. So I’m moving forward doing literally anything and everything I can to reach that person out there who feels like there’s no light. Who feels like they need a hug or a place to share, to cry, to laugh or just to be SEEN. Who feels like they are so over the world pretending that everything is perfect.

Truthfully, I’m reaching out to ME that moment many years ago who was crumbled on the kitchen floor, crying, desperate to connect.

This won’t resonate with all of you. I get that. But to those of you who get this, I’m talking to YOU… let’s kick our shoes off and stop pretending, and show up for each other. Be there for each other and SEE each other.

Things I’ve learnt in India…
👉SURRENDER

Most of us associate surrender as negative ie giving up, failing, being weak or being controlled.

In India, I’ve found that surrender is a profound gift allowing me to open, to get out of my own way, to get back in flow… and to go deeper.

For example…

When things don’t go as expected ie missing a flight, we can choose to surrender to what is, not resist, not fight… or we can cause ourself ongoing suffering by gripping to the expectation of what was “meant to happen”.

Surrendering enables flexibility so you can go with the flow of life.

Another example…

In India I’ve been experiencing so many new things, like new types of spiritual ceremony and rituals. When I get stuck in my head, following only thoughts, I shut down and limit the experience. I can’t appreciate what is occurring because I’m too busy formulating neurosis or fears into thoughts that keep me “safe” aka stuck right where I am.

If we build a brick wall of mind chatter and intelligence it keeps us from seeing beyond our own self constructed limitations.

The decision to surrender and let go of what my mind is telling me has allowed me to have some of the most life changing, exquisite experiences.

When it comes to our spiritual journey, surrender is part and parcel with progress. It’s like using the clutch in a manual car. You aren’t going to be able to move up gears without pressing down the clutch pedal. Without it, you’ll not get far. Surrender is a big part of the journey.

So instead of rigid mindsets that hold us back from going deeper into the true nature of our inherent being, perhaps the answer lies in learning how to stop resisting, to fall in, let go of judgements, criticisms and expectations.

Surrender and let it flow.

Namaste from India. 🙏

I decided I would hold off on sharing for some time to fully immerse myself into my experience of India.

It’s been a week now staying in an ashram in a small town in the region of Tamil Nadu and I have learnt so much that I want to share it with the world.

Truly the joy and calmness here is palpable. Even with the loud music, chanting, excessive heat and hustle and bustle, there’s an under current of love and calm here. A strength that holds it all together.

I want to bottle it and send it home so everyone can feel it.

Stay tuned for some learnings I’ve discovered. I hope it helps everyone to reconnect with self and with the inner glow that naturally radiates from within us.

WORD OF THE DAY: Sp_____s__ss

We book holiday’s seeking a break from our everyday stress, to relax and find peace. But…ultimately our mind still travels with us, as does the day to day anxiety AND we never get a break from parenting.

A mum always stays switched on…protecting, planning, entertaining, cleaning, thinking forward to plan meal times and constant snacks.

I’ve been contemplating this on my current holiday - what is the holiday vibe and how do we take it with us wherever we go…even after the holiday?

👉 The word SPACIOUSNESS comes to mind.

Spaciousness is freedom from the mind, from racing thoughts, from the constant pressure to be switched on and to complete a To Do list. It’s presence and connectedness. It’s an ability to feel free and at peace, no matter what is occurring around you.

It’s non-reactive, non-rigid and non-judgemental. Allowing each moment to just be, it’s neither bad nor good, nor right nor wrong. It just is, because we have an ability to see beyond just our own part in the scene. We see the entire play with spacious awareness.

Here’s one way to help create a little spaciousness👇

Close your eyes
Listen to the sounds around you
Don’t react, just observe them
Then feel your breath…going in and out
Your chest rising,
Falling.
Rising.
Falling.
Connect with the moment through your breath
And say…
“I am present,
I am here right now.
Everything is exactly as it’s meant to be.”
Repeat 3 times.

And remember, it takes diligent practice to stay present and to remain in spaciousness. It doesn’t come easy unless of course you are a monk living in a silent cave without children running around. So be kind to yourself and keep finding even brief moments to stop and go inwards.
