Free event for parents and carers for children from 0-6 years old who are on the autism spectrum.

This session will be presented in partnership with Carers Gateway and Carers Queensland.

Early Days events are held in small groups and give families opportunities to share ideas. They are run by highly skilled and experienced early childhood professionals.

This Progression to School workshop will help you:

Plan for a successful transition to school.
Identify what you, your child and the school need to know.
Understand early intervention services and supports for your family.

Adults with ADHD often have difficulty concentrating for long periods of time, are easily distracted, or might act or speak before thinking things through. While we might all have these difficulties from time to time, people with ADHD have significant and ongoing difficulties in these areas, which can affect their broader lives, particularly their study, work and relationships.1

About 2 to 3% of adults are diagnosed with ADHD. While ADHD begins in childhood and symptoms typically improve as children get older, about 15% continue to have ADHD as adults.

Children who spend more time playing adventurously have lower symptoms of anxiety and depression, and were happier over the first Covid-19 lockdown, according to new research.

The research was carried out with two groups of parents: a group of 427 parents living in Northern Ireland and a nationally representative group of 1919 parents living in Great Britain (England, Wales and Scotland).

Researchers found that children who spend more time playing outside had fewer "internalising problems" -- characterised as anxiety and depression. Those children were also more positive during the first lockdown.

Anxiety is something that everyone feels at one time or another. This is a normal feeling as it helps us staying alert and reaching our goals. As an early human species, we felt anxiety to help us survive as a species to stay alert to the dangers around us.
