⛵️What a Huge Day at Sailability Townsville!⛵

Today was one for the books, so let’s take a moment to celebrate our incredible community.

First, we were honoured to welcome Geoff Grace from Sailability Queensland. His visit means a lot to our little corner of the sailing world.

Yesterday we held our AGM, marking another wonderful year with Andrew continuing as our President. Let’s all pause and send our warmest thoughts to a man who lifts every single one of us. His loyalty, encouragement, and quiet strength have been the model of good leadership.
Thank you, Andrew, for helping us shine. Thank you to his beautiful wife Leanne who lovingly supports her humble husband and brings us Skipper, who brings his joy and love to all that meet him. Thank you both for all that you do for Sailability Townsville and for us Volunteers.

We also celebrated new roles within our committee:
✨ Cathy – Treasurer
✨ Janine – Secretary
Even I joined the committee... whoop whoop🎉

And because Sailability is all heart, Tina spoiled us with two boxes of Krispy Kreme donuts, lovingly delivered by Rowan.

We were joined by Carly from Carly & GG’s Garden Shop, our friend Paul... families, and even newcomers discovering Sailability Townsville for the very first time.

A special thank you to Sharman for creating cooling bandanas to keep everyone comfortable in this heat, and to our newest volunteer, Eleena, who jumped into public speaking and bravely shared our message with the community.
(Though I wasn’t there, a very tall birdy tells me you were amazing!)

⛵️Good Morning from Sailability Townsville⛵

A warm breeze rolls across Townsville this morning, gentle, steady, and full of promise. Even when the skies are grey, there’s light in the laughter of our crew and the joy of being on the water together.

We’re always looking for more wonderful humans to join our volunteer team, no sailing experience needed, just a big heart and a willingness to lend a hand. Come be part of something truly special.

Together, we make waves of inclusion, courage, and community.

☀️Sunshine, Smiles & Sails at Sailability Townsville ☀️

What a beautiful day on the water!
We had so many wonderful friends join us today, Emilie from Townsville Community Learning Centre came for a sail, and Alina and Jase created stunning mermaid masterpieces 🧜🏾‍♀️
Our friends from Breakthru dropped in and had an amazing day enjoying the fresh breeze and freedom of sailing. Huge thanks to our Vice President Owen, who brought along a gazebo so we could all enjoy a little shade on the dock, the UV index hit 12.8 today, and the sun was certainly shining bright.

Rain may have been forecast, but Townsville gifted us clear skies and sunshine instead🌤

We’re so grateful for our amazing team of volunteers who make every sail possible, and if you’d like to join our crew, we’d love to have you!
No experience needed, we can teach you how to sail, drive the safety boat, or help on shore. Every hand helps, every smile matters💛

🎉🎂Celebrating Sharman, Gary & Janine's Birthday🎂🎉

Today, the water shimmered a little brighter,
the laughter rang a little louder, and our hearts felt a little fuller.

Because some truly beautiful souls... Sharman, Gary, and Janine, were surrounded by friends, sails, and sunshine,
as we celebrated their birthdays on the water.

Each of them brings so much light to Sailability Townsville,
kindness that ripples, laughter that lifts,
and spirit that reminds us what community truly means.

🌞Pure Tropical Townsville Energy, Sunshine You Can Feel🌞

⚓️Today we were thrilled to welcome Engage Marine, Australia’s leading marine and towage services, to Sailability Townsville! ⚓️

Engage Marine recently took over the harbour towage contract for Townsville and reached out to offer their support for our inclusive sailing community. We’re deeply grateful that they took the time to visit, connect, and explore ways to sponsor our program, a true reflection of community supporting community 💙

We’d also like to warmly welcome them to the Townsville region, it’s wonderful to see local maritime hearts joining forces to uplift others.

Alongside this special visit, we were delighted to share the breeze with our friends from The Good Shepherd Home, thank you for dropping by🫶🏽
We welcomed a new participant, Emilie, from The Townsville Community Learning Centre who was incredibly brave and gave sailing a go, and the ever radiant Carly from Carly & GG’s Garden Shop🌸had an awesome sail today🩷

Our day flowed smoothly thanks to our incredible volunteers, led by our Vice President Owen, whose laughter, teamwork, and spirit lift even the most weary💛 Every sail, every smile, every helping hand reminds us that Sailability Townsville volunteers are all heart.
