Clients spotlight !!

These awesome pair train with our amazing Rach.

We train with our Pocket Rocket (Rachel) twice a week, and look forward to every session.   One session with Rachel includes so much….a personalized and challenging approach, ensuring proper form and technique, along with support and laughs. Rachel’s expertise has taught us to be patient and consistent, building that long term healthy habit.

Client spot light.. the amazing Cherise.
Historically, I’d always done some exercise — whether walking or, more recently, cycling daily.

However, post-menopause, developing a frozen shoulder (which I now know was from reduced oestrogen) and requiring a partial knee replacement due to arthritis meant my exercise was really hindered.

I heard Paula speak at a luncheon and organised a 1-on-1 to see where I was at. Boy, what a shock! At 64 years old, I couldn’t stand up from a low bench.

After a few 1-on-1s, I now train with Paula weekly and, since retiring, I also do weights at home during the week.

Now 67, I can’t stress enough how transformative it’s been. I no longer feel scared of falls — I can rescue myself. I can get up off the floor unaided, walk up hills and manage stairs.

I won’t lie — you need to be motivated — but the feeling of being stronger is amazing. The Fuel PT team are so supportive. They push you, but they are right there by your side.

Lifting weights as women age is so important. The confidence and the feeling of being strong is incredible.

Holy humidity Batman. Geezus that got me good !! It’s 5pm for Christ sake. !
But geez I love it.
First straight 30 min run for about 7 months.
I’m taking on board the things I say to my clients this year as a goal to myself. Train smarter not harder. Every time I think I’m an athlete again I hurt myself. 🙄
And I can’t do all the events I want to. So here goes. A full year of events and no down time.

Strength training has many benefits for overall health. Women often tend to do cardiovascular exercise more often than strength training, but a combination of both is much better for health.

🏋️‍♂️ Build and maintain muscle
Muscle mass for women is very important, especially after the age of 30, as your muscle starts to deteriorate. This can lead to a loss of stability and weight gain as you get older.

🏋️‍♂️ Help maintain bone strength
Many women understand the importance of muscle mass, what many don’t realise is how important strength training is for bone strength and density. Strength training can help build bone density and strength for the long term, helping to avoid issues associated with conditions like osteoporosis. The more strength you can build and maintain through regular strength training, the better overall bone health you will have.

🏋️‍♂️ Strengthen and maintain your stability
As we get older our core strength can diminish, particularly after having children. As a result, we’re at increased risk of falls and stumbles. Strength training is the best way to maintain stability and balance by working on your core strength and overall muscle density. Having and maintaining a good level of strength is key to improving balance and avoiding those falls as women age. It has been proven that strength training helps maintain long term health by avoiding those balance issues in later life.

Strength training not only helps build muscle but also helps kick-start and speed up your metabolism. Your metabolism is all about burning energy and using what you have. The more training you do, the faster your metabolism works, burning more kilojoules throughout the day. This means even when you aren’t working out, your metabolism is burning and you can maintain a healthier weight as well.

Strength training is important for everyone who wants to maintain a healthy lifestyle for both now and into the future.

Fuel PT Solutions

I have been in the fitness industry for 16 years. I started out training my friends and family, and then slowly moved into clients once the results were happening with friends. I train people from many walks of life – people in rehab, older people, young people, all types of sporting backgrounds, general weight loss and body transformations as well as competitive body builders.

I love weight training/body building and working on fitness levels. I love that it is both a mental and physical process, and that it stretches and tests you as a person. I love feeling strong and watching all the hard work unfold when you tie the training with a good nutrition plan. More than anything I love passing my knowledge and advice onto others that require some help reaching their full potential.

Training people and watching them transform not just physically but mentally is just magic. Watching someone who would normally be self-conscious about their bodies become more confident in their skin is fantastic. I just love being able to be part of their journey. It’s an absolute honour to me.
