Welcome 2026! Wow it is already halfway through February!
We hope everyone is finding their way into the year.

Though if you or someone you know hasn’t quite got their mojo or struggling to get into this year. Here at Achieving Change we can help you out.

Amanda has many years’ experience in working with people across the age spectrum, she is highly qualified and has current availability for new clients.

Amanda is an experienced child and youth clinician that understands that children and young people have concerns that parents are not always equipped to assist with. Today's world is changing so quickly that can create concerns and worries.

Are you starting back at work and having some doubts or holiday hangover, struggling to get back into routine and feel its all too much. Make an appointment so we can discuss how to get the best out of 2026.

To secure an appointment our referral processes are:
1. via a mental health care plan from your GP. This will allow you to receive a Medicare rebate.

2. We are fully NDIS registered, we see children, young people and adults. Contact us directly to discuss a service agreement.

3. We are an Employee assistance Provider (EAP) for TELUS Health- check with your employer who company they use for EAP as often this is available to employees and their family members as well.

On this day we will remember the ones from the past, the present and future. The sacrifices made and the wounds carried by many.
Wounds carried not just by the ones who are 'in' the armed forces but by those who love and care for them.

There are many reasons I enjoy my job. I get to meet the most amazing people, who allow me the privilege and honour of being part of their story.
This is something I do not take lightly and feel extremely privileged to have that opportunity.
This is made even more amazing when someone finds out you have not been well, so goes out of their way to give you an early Christmas present to help you feel better.

This was greatly appreciated by myself.

I am truly blessed to work with some of the amazing people.

Many times I get asked am I a psychologist?
I have post graduate psychology though I am a social worker who is accredited Mental health.
I then get asked what then is the difference between psychologist and a social worker.

The following describes it rather well. I did take this from another page.

The biggest differences between the two aren't in therapy, it's more the focus in their early training - psychologists (generally) have more training in research and statistics, whereas social workers (generally) have more training in how people and systems interact - but BOTH psychologists and Accredited Mental Health Social Workers get training and experience in therapy and BOTH of us engage in evidence-based practice and we all learn about all of those things. Accredited Mental Health Social Workers complete additional training and sit an exam to be registered, they are able to provide services under the Medicare Better Access scheme. They have additional training in using focus psychological strategies like CBT, ACT & EMDR

All clinicians at Achieving Change Counselling are registered with the relevant registration body for their profession, which requires they undertake ongoing professional development and access regular clinical supervision (meeting with a clinician who has additional qualifications in supporting, mentoring, and overseeing their practice).

After their initial training, both will pursue certain specialisations, and the clinicians at Achieving Change Counselling undertaken and continue to engage in ongoing training/development in therapy.

In a world were we can be anything we need to remember to be ourselves!
We need to understand that we are all the same in what we are but we are all different in who we are.
Lets celebrate the who we are and add colour, texture and story to the world!
