Accessible Latrobe

Accessible Latrobe Please note that as our group members are all volunteers, you may not get an immediate response on this page :).

Accessible Latrobe is an advocacy project which aims to partner with local businesses in Latrobe Valley to build a more accessible and inclusive community for people living with disabilities. This project is led by a group of local people with disabilities living in Latrobe Valley who are using their unique skills and lived experiences to inform the project on a voluntary basis. The first phase of the project involves identifying accessible restaurants in Traralgon and ensuring that people in our community with limited mobility (such as those who use wheelchairs, walkers, crutches, or canes) are aware that these businesses are accessible. Accessible Latrobe will help members of the community identify accessible restaurants by providing eligible businesses with a sticker for their front door or window which indicates accessibility and listing eligible businesses on its website and social media channels. Accessible Latrobe will also provide businesses with feedback about its accessibility features, including any suggested modifications that may improve accessibility. After this initial phase of the project, we hope to gradually expand Accessible Latrobe to cover other types of businesses in other areas of Latrobe Valley.
