⚠️ B12 Testing at Dorevitch Pathology

Patients who have had weight loss surgery, your routine review blood tests include B12, Iron, Vitamin D, and other important checks.
It has come to our attention that Dorevitch Pathology is now charging patients a fee for B12 testing unless the clinician's request form notes: “history of gastric surgery.”
Please check your request form includes this statement before attending Dorevitch to avoid an unexpected fee.
If you need Mr Scott to complete a new pathology slip or have any questions, please don't hesitate to call our office 5174 0036.

Just letting you know that from February 2026 David will be consulting from Warragul Specialist Centre, 197/199 Sutton Street, Warragul three Friday mornings a month. All appointments are still made through our Traralgon office on 51740036. He has now finished at Victoria Street Medical Centre.

Pathology - just to letting you all know that pathology results seem to be getting a little slower to get to us, even electronically. My request to you is when you have blood tests coming up to allow at least a week prior to your appointment for us to have them available. I have no doubt your time is just as important to you as to us and we do not like wasting your time if we don't have results available at appointment.

I thought I would take a moment of your time to clarify referrals to Mr Scott. Any referral from your GP is usually for 12 months unless you can ask your doctor to write "indefinite referral" in the letter, then Medicare will allow us to use this longer than 12 months.
If your referral is from a specialist, these referrals only last 3 months.
We do try and notify you when your referral is going to expire but unfortunately this is a manual system and we don't always get the chance to remind you in time.
Without a valid referral we are unable to bulk bill, after the initial consultation.
