We would like to share a message received from a wonderful young women who underwent Calmare Therapy in early February 2018.
This young women has endured CRPS since 9 years old, she is now 20yo.
Unfortunately, we are contacted by a disproportionate number of parents of younger children/adolescents suffering from CRPS - particularly younger women.
"This year will be my 11th year journeying with CRPS, a condition that completely changed my life from the one I once knew, to a shocking reality of never ending pain. I was first diagnosed with CRPS in my left foot after a motor vehicle accident. Over the years it has spread throughout my body and centralised giving me pain in every part of my body. CRPS has also affected my heart rate, sugar levels, bladder, skin and has even made me intolerant to a lot of foods. No area of my body has not been touched or affected by CRPS.
Over the years I have tried many different medications and medical treatments. Some of them helped for a while, some of them didn’t help at all and some of them I had awful reactions to landing me in hospital with fluid pressure on my brain. The only medication that I find useful is Ampitriptaline, I find this helps me get good sleep which is really important.
I had come to the conclusion on my own, that pain killers don’t work against my nerve pain and the only real help was heat packs and warm showers. That was until I tried Calmare Therapy.
I have been following Calmare Therapy for years after someone I know, who has CRPS, went to America in a wheelchair for the treatment and came back walking. In early January this year, I was in a very bad state. I was booked to go into hospital for Ketamine Infusions, to give my body a ‘break’, when we found out about Calmare Therapy being available in Australia. My Mum emailed Ron and the very next day I was sitting in the chair at Glentra House for my first treatment.
Over the course of the treatments, my pain dropped from a 8-9 daily to a 2 daily. The sensation of the electrodes on my skin was amazing and in the end my body love the sensation while connected to the machine. 50 minutes on the machine each day helped loosen my body up so I was able to walk properly and achieve more with less pain. I did not understand fully what Calmare Therapy could do for me until I got a bad nerve pain headache. Normally I end up in hospital with my bad nerve pain headaches, but I decided to go to the Calmare Therapy instead, just to see if it would help. By the end of my treatment my headache had almost completely gone. Nothing has ever helped my headaches, but Calmare Therapy did.
My overall experience with Calmare Therapy and Ron was amazing! I could not recommend trying it enough. The team at Glentra House were so open and welcoming, they put so much care into the treatments wanting you to have the best result possible. My pain has not been fully taken away, but because I have less of it I have more energy and am able to cope with the pain that I do have. My capacity to live life, has been greatly improved through Calmare Therapy!
