๐๐Ok, so it's the season of peace and goodwill, right? Joy, cheer, kindness and giving. Well, it's nice to aspire to and wonderful if you can find the holiday spirit๐.
For many of us, the run up to the holiday season can present a number of challenges. In these busy pre-Christmas days, there can be increased stress, expectations, social engagements, extra pressure on finances, time pressures, and so much to remember - oh, and the parking (let's not even go there!). So we thought we'd try to help out with some gentle reminders to support your wellbeing during the festive season:
โจ 1. Keep expectations realistic ๐ญ
You donโt need to do everything, be everywhere, or make everyone happy. Focus on what truly matters to you and let the rest be โgood enough.โ
โจ 2. Protect your energy ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ
The holiday season can drain even the most resilient people. Build in small pockets of rest โ a quiet cup of tea, a short walk, or 10 minutes of breathing space. Save your spoons for what matters.
โจ 3. Say โnoโ when you need to ๐
โโ๏ธ
Itโs absolutely okay to decline invitations or step back from commitments. Boundaries help prevent burnout and allow you to enjoy the moments you do show up for.
โจ 4. Stick to supportive routines where possible ๐ฅฑ
Sleep, meals, movement, and medication routines often fall away during this time โ yet theyโre the things that keep us steady. Keep these in balance when you can.
โจ 5. Notice signs of stress early ๐
Irritability, fatigue, overthinking and feeling โon edgeโ are all cues to slow down and take care of yourself.
โจ 6. Reach out if youโre struggling ๐ซฑ๐ซฒ
This season can be especially hard for people dealing with family conflict, grief, loneliness, or mental health challenges. Support is available, and you donโt have to manage everything alone.
At Axon Health, we love that our work is dedicated to supporting people through the highs and lows of the year. If you need support, guidance, or even just a space to breathe and regroup, weโre here. Richard has the kettle on!
Wishing everyone a gentle, grounded and meaningful holiday season. ๐
