Today is World Down Syndrome Awareness Day

This year’s theme, “Together Against Loneliness,” is a powerful reminder that connection matters. Everyone deserves to feel seen, included, and valued in their community.

People with Down syndrome enrich our lives in so many ways—and yet, too many still experience isolation. Today is about coming together, reaching out, and making sure no one feels left out.

Stories help us understand and connect.

If you have time this weekend I encourage you to watch Where’s Sal? A beautiful movie that centres on a man with Down syndrome and explores themes of identity, care, and importance of community.

Great news! 🚨

From March 1st there are new conditions being added to the Medicare Benefit Schedule (MBS) M10 eligible conditions list.

This means children with the following can access up to 8 rebated assessment sessions and 20 rebated therapy sessions during their life:

• Stuttering
• Speech Sound Disorders
• Cleft lip and/or palate

Take this flyer along and chat to your GP if you think your child may be eligible for a referral to speech pathology under the MBS M10.

Medicare rebates do not cover the whole session cost and there is an out of pocket gap payment.

This is what being “the boss” really feels like — pure joy.

Yes, I was completely spoiled with the most beautiful flowers and a generous voucher to my favourite day spa (they know me well!) — but what truly makes it special is the people.

I’m lucky enough to work with a team that’s not only talented and dedicated, but genuinely wonderful to be around.

They make my “boss life” a dream and for that (and the impending massage) I am so very grateful! X
