Very exciting day for us at FNQH Cairns- Integrated Melanoma Centre. The paper we co-authored has been published in the prestigious Nature Magazine. This is our second publication in the Nature Magazine.

It has been an amazing experience working with some of the top melanoma researchers from Australia, Europe and the Americas. Our centre is the only primary care centre to participate in this and it has been a humbling feeling to see our practice's name listed along with some big university hospitals.

Our aim is to showcase what can be done from Primary Care Institutions and to show that we can provide high quality Data that is sometimes better that what can be acquired from tertiary institutions.

Why we do this? we want to being newer treatments and skin cancer diagnostic tools to Cairns in the way of clinical trials and research.

Our team will continue to endeavour towards achieving "No Deaths to Melanoma"!!

This is amazing news for Cairns

We are now an official site for an exciting drug trial which is aimed at providing non-surgical treatment for BCCs.

We are the ONLY GP clinic in Australia to be accepted as a trial site for this trial. Why do we invest in Clinical and drug trials - it is because we do not wish to be just a skin clinic but a "Centre of Excellence" in Skin Cancer Diagnosis, treatment, Research and Education. Our commitment is to bring the latest treatments that are available - to Cairns.

We have made significant financial and "man hour" investments to bring this to Cairns. FNQH has also invested around $1.5 Million to acquire cutting edge equipment and some are not available anywhere else in regional Australia.

Why is this important to the community - These trials make certain treatments accessible to the community and it is an opportunity to be able to offer newer and better treatments than what is already available.

We will continue to work towards achieving "No Deaths to Skin Cancer".

Renowned for her expertise in surgical procedures, Dr. Reeves received her initial training in the UK before honing her skills in skin cancer diagnosis and surgery through comprehensive programs in New Zealand and Australia. With over a decade dedicated to skin cancer medicine and surgery in both regions, she has emerged as a leading expert in New Zealand and Australia.

Dr Reeves is an accredited skin cancer doctor and member of The Skin Cancer College of Australasia. She is currently advancing her knowledge by pursuing a Master’s in Skin Cancer Medicine at the University of Queensland.
