WHAT IS HOMOCYSTEINE?
A high homocysteine level can increase your risk of stroke and dementia.
Reduce your homocysteine level by 3Β΅mol/L to reduce your risk of heart attack by 16 percent
Homocysteine levels are a highly accurate way to determine health now and predict future wellbeing.

Reduce your homocysteine level by 3Β΅mol/L to reduce your risk of heart attack by 16 percent.
Homocysteine is measured in micromoles per litre of blood (Β΅mol/L). Worldwide homocysteine levels are high – geography cannot protect you from the potential risks homocysteine poses to health!
The lower the homocysteine the better the odds
There is really no healthy level for homocysteine but generally the lower, the better. A β€˜safe zone’ is normally considered to be below 9Β΅mol/L.
Above 14 – you are at major risk of suffering a heart attack or stroke and the risk from Alzheimer’s disease increases by over 150%.
Below 9 – Mothers who consistently give birth to healthy, normal babies tend to have homocysteine levels below 9. Furthermore, patients who have had coronary angioplasty treatment suffer from significantly fewer new arterial blockages and cardiovascular disease later in life.
As the graph shows below, the higher the homocysteine level the greater the risk. The lower the homocysteine level, the lower the risk of developing coronary artery disease and suffering potentially fatal heart attacks and strokes.

Vitamin K2 Linked To Reduced Artery Plaque In Study

A new cardiovascular health study is drawing attention to vitamin K2 and its potential role in reducing carotid artery plaque formation. Researchers observed that participants who consumed ninety micrograms of vitamin K2 daily experienced more than a fifty five percent reduction in plaque progression over nine months.

Carotid artery plaque develops when fatty deposits build up along the artery walls, increasing the risk of heart disease and stroke. Vitamin K2 plays a key role in activating proteins that help direct calcium away from arteries and into bones. Scientists believe this mechanism may slow arterial calcification and support vascular flexibility.

In the study, imaging tests showed improved arterial markers compared to baseline measurements. However, medical experts caution that results can vary based on overall diet, lifestyle, and existing cardiovascular conditions. Vitamin K2 is found in fermented foods and certain animal products, but supplementation should be discussed with a healthcare professional, especially for individuals on bl*od thinning medication.

While not a standalone treatment, this research highlights how targeted nutrients may influence heart health.

Could vitamin K2 become part of broader strategies to support long term cardiovascular wellness?
