☀️ Summer Heat Safety — Look After Yourself in the Heat
With warmer summer days across NSW, it’s important to take extra care of your health. Hot weather can increase the risk of dehydration, heat exhaustion and heatstroke — especially for children, older adults and those with chronic conditions.
🔥 Stay safe in the heat:
✔️ Drink water regularly, even if you don’t feel thirsty
✔️ Avoid outdoor activity during peak heat (10am–4pm)
✔️ Wear light, breathable clothing and a hat
✔️ Use SPF50+ sunscreen and reapply often
✔️ Keep babies, children and older adults cool
✔️ Never leave children or pets in parked cars
If you experience dizziness, nausea, headaches or extreme fatigue, seek medical advice promptly.
