Our community came alive on Friday for Market Day at Sunrise Village, Tuncurry and what a special day it was!

We were delighted to welcome stallholders from across the local area who brought a beautiful variety of handmade crafts, plants, homewares, gifts, and sweet treats. Residents, staff and neighbours all came together to browse, chat and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere.

Events like this remind us of the importance of connection — both within our village and with the wider community. We’re so grateful to every local business and maker who joined us, and to everyone who came along to support the day.

Melbourne Cup Day brought plenty of colour, cheer, and a little friendly competition to Sunrise Village!

Residents and staff enjoyed a fabulous day of fun, laughter, and lovely fashions, with a few lucky winners walking away with more than just a smile.
There’s nothing like coming together to celebrate in style!

From Railways to Radio: Doug's Journey in Tune with Life

Meet Doug, one of our much-loved residents at Sunrise Supported Living, whose story was recently featured in The Great Lakes Advocate.

Doug’s life has been filled with music, memories, and meaningful moments, from his early days working on the railways to becoming a familiar voice on Great Lakes FM.

A natural storyteller with a love for classic tunes, Doug has spent years bringing joy to listeners across the Mid North Coast. His passion for music and community connection shines through everything he does.

Now enjoying life at Sunrise, Doug continues to inspire those around him with his warmth, wit and incredible life experience.

As he shared in the article:
"I never believed I could be as happy in a place like this as I am, and it’s all due to the residents and staff."

What a night to remember at our Village Spring Ball!
