👁️ Welcome Dr Allister Lee!

We’re thrilled to welcome south-east Queensland local Dr Allister Lee to the GCTED team! He’ll be consulting from our Tweed rooms and operating out of Miami Private Hospital.

Dr Lee is a highly accomplished ophthalmologist, with first-class honours in Medicine and multiple national awards recognising him as a top candidate in both the ophthalmic pathology and final ophthalmology specialist exams across Australia and New Zealand.

With extensive training across Queensland and fellowship experience at Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, Dr Lee has performed thousands of cataract and pterygium surgeries.

Known for his calm and thoughtful approach, he’s passionate about ensuring every patient feels informed, supported, and confident throughout their eye care journey.

We’re so excited to have him on board at GCTED! 👏

🌟 Meet The Team Tuesday – Say hi to Cassidy! 🌟

Meet Cassidy, our General Manager at Gold Coast & Tweed Eye Doctors. Born and raised in the Tweed region, Cassidy joined GCTED in May 2025 and has been driving positive change across our clinics ever since.

With 8 years of experience as a Business Manager in the veterinary industry, Cassidy brings strong leadership, team development skills, and a passion for patient-centered service into ophthalmology. Her focus is on creating supportive systems and building high-performing teams where both staff and doctors can thrive.

Outside of work, Cassidy enjoys hiking and diving with her husband, making the most of the outdoors. On quieter weekends, you’ll find her reading, painting, or playing video games at home with her feisty cat, Snow 🐾.

Cassidy is also passionate about positive mindset coaching and believes that strong culture and clear direction are the foundation of exceptional teams.

✨ Flashback Friday ✨

Back in February, we had the pleasure of welcoming keynote speaker Dr Liz Crowe to our Gold Coast & Tweed Eye Doctors Optometry Gala - and what a standout session it was.

With a PhD and background in social work, Dr Crowe shared powerful insights into what drives resilience and burnout in healthcare professionals, drawing from her research in paediatric intensive care.

Her Communication Masterclass gave us the opportunity to better understand who we are as communicators - from our listening and talking styles to the subtle habits and “tics” that shape how we connect with others.

Even more valuable was learning how these insights can be applied in everyday practice - with our patients, within our teams, and even at home.
