👉 This year’s theme is digital violence, which is a growing threat across the digital world. 💬📲
❌ This type of violence, which includes cyberbullying and online hate speech, is being fuelled by AI and anonymity, but it’s time to reclaim online spaces and make them safe.
Everyone deserves to live free from violence, online and offline. Together, we can build a safer, more inclusive community.

🧡 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence
Today marks the beginning of the global 16 Days of Activism: a campaign calling for the prevention and elimination of gender-based violence in all its forms.
Over the next two weeks, we’ll be sharing ways our staff and community can reflect, learn and stand in solidarity with those impacted by domestic, family and gender-based violence.
This is a time to come together, raise awareness and reinforce our commitment to safe, respectful and inclusive communities.

The Salvage Shed annual Recycled Art Competition & Exhibition did not disappoint this year!
So many clever, creative entries, all made from reused and upcycled treasures found at home or discovered at the Salvage Shed in Ballina.
A huge shout-out to some standout winners:
🌟 Under 12s Winner: Matilda — incredible creativity and such clever use of recycled materials!
🌟 Open Category Winner: Ally K — we absolutely loved your cat enclosure!
🌟 Group Category Winner: The Red Inc. Construction Club — amazing effort, team!

What an incredible day we had celebrating 46 years of Momentum Collective Summerland Farm!
We explored their welcoming retail hub, where ADE staff proudly showcased their work and a range of natural, locally made products. The grounds were beautiful to wander, and the animal farm added a fun, relaxed moment for everyone.
Lunch was a standout — fresh, local produce cooked simply and beautifully.
A lovely day to pause, connect, and reflect on the work we do together and the perfect place to return with family and friends.

We’re so grateful for their incredible hospitality in providing lunch and refreshments at no cost, and for their ongoing spirit of solidarity and collaboration across our community services network.

National Recycling Week 2025
This week we’re celebrating the power of recycling and the positive impact it has on both people and the planet.
At our Recyclers Op Shop in Tweed Heads and Salvage Shed in Ballina, every donated item helps reduce waste while providing hands-on opportunities for our ADE team to learn, grow and work with purpose.
From sorting and repairing to serving customers and keeping usable items out of landfill, our staff play an important role in creating a more sustainable community.
