We’re incredibly grateful to Lindisfarne Anglican Grammar for their generosity 💙

They donated an amazing collection of gifts for women and children in our refuges, along with money and gift vouchers to support women and children at Tweed Refuge.

A special shout-out to Gail Dessmann, a long-term staff member who helped drive this incredible donation effort. Thank you for your compassion and commitment — it will make a real difference for families in our community.

Yesterday, Momentum Collective came together as a company at the beautiful Ballina Surf Club to celebrate the festive season.

From Christmas Bingo and alfresco games to a delicious lunch, a surprise visit from Santa, Secret Santa gifts, and even a candy cane limbo, it was a fun-filled way to wrap up a big year.

After a busy and at times challenging year, it was special to pause, connect, and celebrate together one last time. 💛

A Big Thank You to Our Community ❤️

The Targeted Early Intervention program, known as TEI, closes this week, with services moving to Northern Rivers Community Gateway from 19 December. The Family Preservation Program concluded on 12 December. Referrals to Family Preservation are available through contacting the Department of Communities and Justice. We’re working closely with both providers to make the transition smooth.

To all the families, young people, volunteers and community members who’ve been part of our TEI and Family Preservation programs at Casino Neighbourhood Centre and Oak Centre – thank you! Your support, stories and trust have meant the world to us over the years.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has donated to our Christmas gift appeal! Our SHLV teams were proud to take part in events last week as part of the 16 Days of Activism to End Domestic Violence.

One team attended the Community Breakfast at Grafton Library, hosted by the Clarence Valley Domestic and Family Violence Committee. Thank you to the organisers for creating a meaningful space for awareness and connection.

Another team represented SHLV at the Coraki Community Event, setting up a stall and engaging with community members throughout the day.

We stand together in raising awareness, supporting victim-survivors, and advocating for safer communities for all.

We had a fantastic time at the Empowering Ability event in Casino this week!

Momentum Collective teams — including SHLV (Supported Housing & Living) and Bloom, our social and community support program — joined the community to celebrate International Day of People with Disability. Visitors enjoyed grab bags filled with info and goodies, and got creative with a pipe-cleaner threading craft, making colourful snakes to take home as bookmarks or trinkets.

Events like these remind us of the importance of inclusion, connection, and celebrating everyone’s contribution to our community. 💛
