We are lobbying the Government to make us an essential service, because at present funeral services are NOT considered essential. If we run out of fuel our transfer vehicle won’t be able to collect your loved one. Let that sink in for a moment. We are just getting prepared incase we are affected by these crazy times.

Funeral directors travel significant distances every day to bring loved ones into care and support families through the funeral process. Reliable access to fuel is essential to ensure these services continue without disruption.

As the peak national body, Funerals Australia is advocating to State and Federal Ministers for funeral services to be recognised as an essential service in any fuel prioritisation arrangements, helping ensure families can continue to receive care when they need it most.

Please join us in advocating for recognition of funeral services in emergency fuel planning. But let’s hope we do not get to the point where we have a real fuel shortage/crises. 🙏🙏

Grief support staff from New Mornings, not-for-profit organisation, will provide gentle encouragement, grief education, and compassionate conversation to help you better understand your journey and feel more supported and less alone.

Rita went to sleep on the 27th of March 2026 at the NWRH, Burnie in her 97th year. She will be dearly missed by all her loving family. Wife of the late William (Bo) and a loving mother to Vicki, Michael, Karen and Bill, and their partners. Loved 'Old Nan' by all her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Honouring the heart of our triangle 🩶

For as long as we can remember, it was always the three of us — Dad in the middle, with his two girls beside him. Our triangle was our strength, our safety, and our home. No matter what life brought, we always had each other.

Now a part of our triangle is missing, and the space you’ve left behind is something we will feel every single day. But the love that held us together hasn’t gone anywhere. It lives on in our memories, in the stories we tell, and in the bond you built between us.

It lives on in the people you loved so deeply — your grandkids. Pop's Tribe. You were their biggest supporter, their safe place, the one who showed up with love, laughter, and the kind of pride only a Pop could have. They will grow up always knowing how much you adored them.

You were the strongest point of our triangle, Dad, and the heart of Pop's Tribe.
