Want to step up your core game? Try this Offset Trapbar Squat šŸ‘Œ

Using a trapbar, set each side with an uneven weight. Here we are using 10kg and 5kg. Before you lift, make sure you're ready to move. Brace hard through your core, hold good posture through your shoulders, not letting the weight pull you down. Drive your weight through your heels, pushing knees out and squeezing your glutes into standing.
Aim to keep yourself centred in the bar, trying not to pull the heavier side too close to you allowing the lighter side to push away.

Make sure you rotate the weights to hit both sides šŸ˜‰

Did you know, the average adult had 8,000 tastebuds šŸ‘…, whilst kids average 10,000. They are replaced approximately every two weeks but as we age some of them aren't replaced, lowering our sense of taste the older we get šŸ©.

Tiffany first came to Phoenix Physiology in search of relief for her plantar fasciitis 🦶, almost daily migraines 🤯 and non-stop tension... well pretty much everywhere. Not helped by her high stress job and life, she was left struggling most days.

Now, while her stresses haven't decreased but her pain definitely has! Since begining working with our Principal Exercise Scientist, Nat, Tiffany no longer suffers from daily migraines, her feet feel fab, and while she still has some stress related tension we have worked together to manage the impact that has on her ability to function. Oh and she's stronger than ever! Both physically šŸ’Ŗ and mentally 🧠!! Killing it Tiff šŸ¤—!

Challenge your quads and your balance with these Time Under Tension (TUT) Squat Toe Taps šŸ”„

Grab a bench or box, start by standing tall with both feet stable on the bench and your abs switched on. From here sink low into your Squat position, knees driving out and weight in your heels. Now try to hold this low position as you shift your weight to one side and with control lightly tap the floor with your other foot, return to position and switch sides.

This is a great exercise to challenge your lower limbs, balance and core.

Haaaaave you met Ash?
The lovely Ashleigh came to Phoenix when she was pregnant with her third beautiful bub. She loved lifting and wanted to make sure she was training as safely as possible for herself and her bub.
After taking some time away from training and returning to work Ash noted the long days on her feet were leaving her with back, shoulder and the occasional neck pain.

Since returning to Phoenix Physiology, this busy mum and fabulous make-up artist has noticed she can get through the day with less tension in her neck (wooo no headaches) and next to no back and shoulder pain šŸ’Ŗ

Think you've got control?
Challenge yourself to our Lateral Hold Lunges šŸ’Ŗ
Grab a dumbbell, keep your shoulders level and torso straight, lifting the dumbbell into a lateral shoulder raise, hold it level with your shoulder as you move into walking lunges. Ensure you maintain good ab control and your knees don't collapse inward with each step.
Have your training buddy guide you so you don't lean, or lunge towards a mirror to make sure you hold good posture.

Happy lunging 😁
