✨ Saying Goodbye in the Playroom ✨
Goodbyes in the playroom are never rushed… they are held with care, intention, and meaning.
In Child-Centred Play Therapy, endings are just as important as beginnings. They are part of the therapeutic process — a chance to reflect, to celebrate growth, and to gently prepare for what comes next.
As we move toward a child’s final session, we don’t just “end” — we count down together.
We talk about it.
We make space for feelings.
We plan something special for that last day.
Because goodbyes can bring up a mix of emotions — pride, sadness, excitement, even uncertainty — and all of those feelings are welcome here 🤍
Today, we celebrated one of our wonderful clients as they finished their play therapy journey.
There were special treats, a small gift, and a moment to honour just how far they’ve come.
These moments matter.
They help children experience that relationships can be safe…
that endings can be gentle…
and that they can carry what they’ve learned with them into the world beyond the playroom 🌿
At Curious Box, we don’t just say goodbye —
we hold it, honour it, and make it meaningful.
