Chris Messina is a Credentialled Diabetes Educator and the founder of Green Jelly Bean Diabetes. Born and bred in Cairns, Chris understands the needs of those living in the region and is passionate about empowering people with or at risk of diabetes. With a focus on type 2 diabetes, Chris facilitates self-empowerment by focusing on individual needs, providing knowledge, motivation and support through better understanding. Green Jelly Bean Diabetes believes everyone deserves the opportunity to live well and that access to better education is the first step in this journey. Green Jelly Bean Diabetes offers a mobile service as well as a dedicated clinic located within the Piccone’s Shopping Village in Manoora, Cairns. Clients have access to ongoing care and follow-up via phone, email or face-to-face on completion of their Team Care Arrangement referrals with patient support programs run by Novo Nordisk (Helping Hands) and Lilly Diabetes (Lilly Diabetes Support Service). Delivered by an Accredited Pharmacist and Credentialed Diabetes Educator, Green Jelly Bean Diabetes can offer the following services to your patients:
