Pathology ranges are based on averages, not what is optimal for you. This is why symptoms, history and the full picture matter more than a single number.

Just to be clear — this isn’t me criticising other medical professionals. Reference ranges exist for a reason, and many clinicians simply don’t have the time to explore every subtle imbalance. That doesn’t mean the care is wrong — it’s just different.

My role is to spend the time with you. To look a little closer and connect the dots between your symptoms and your results.

I’ve seen it time and time again: small shifts towards optimal (not just “normal”) can make a huge difference to how someone feels — or highlight an area that deserves further investigation and might otherwise be overlooked.

PMDD can feel incredibly debilitating, and those intense mood shifts before your period deserve to be taken seriously. I often see women told they’re “just depressed,” when their symptoms are actually linked to their cycle. There’s so much value in exploring what’s really going on beneath the surface.

As a Naturopath working with individuals and couples trying to conceive, these are the things I wish more people knew sooner:

🟤 Your future fertility is influenced by your current health.
Preconception care matters. Focusing on optimising the health of both egg and s***m before trying to conceive can support positive pregnancy outcomes and overall health of the child in the long term.

🟤 It takes two.
Both partners contribute equally to conception. S***m health is just as important as ovulatory health and cycle regularity, and supporting both can make a meaningful difference.

🟤 Stress affects reproductive hormones.
An overwhelmed or dysregulated nervous system can impact hormonal balance, and high stress may make conception more challenging. Supporting stress resilience is a key part of preconception care.

🟤 Early assessment is ideal.
Starting with preconception testing and a thorough health review can save time and frustration later. Many couples begin testing only after months of trying, which can delay the support they need. Beginning this process earlier is highly encouraged.

Did you know?! Naturopathy is an unregulated profession! 🤯

I often have clients come to me after having poor experiences with alternative health practitioners. When I ask if those practitioners were actually qualified, most people aren’t sure—and are shocked to learn that they don’t have to be.

This is becoming more common, especially with the rise of social media “experts” and influencers. So please, be mindful of where you’re getting your health advice. Check their credentials so you stay safe, and don’t waste your time or money.
