It’s wedding season! 💍

Why are we talking about weddings, you ask?

Earlier this year, Andrew and Alice tied the knot, having approached us to make a donation in lieu of wedding favours – or bonbonniere, if you prefer.

Together, we produced custom cards paired with our branded lapel pins, one for each guest place setting at their beautiful reception, and the bride and groom made a generous donation to support our neuroscience research.

Thank you, Andrew and Alice, for sharing your celebration with us.

If you are planning a wedding and still deciding on your favours, we’d be honoured to be part of your special day, too! 💜

Congratulations to our inaugural Ambassador, Carrie Bickmore, on being named Victorian Australian of the Year! - for her work to progress brain cancer research.

This announcement couldn’t be more fitting, with the RMH Research Conference taking place on 6-7 November, and this year’s theme - Collaboration within and beyond the network.

Located in the heart of the Melbourne Biomedical Precinct, surrounded by other world-class clinical, educational and research institutions - including the Brain Cancer Centre - it is no doubt that collaboration is the key to our research success.

Together with our current wonderful Ambassadors – Denis Walter OAM and Jamila Rizvi – we extend a massive thank you to all of our collaborators!

Vale Barbara Rosemary Haynes OAM

The Trustees and staff of the RMH Neuroscience Foundation extend our deepest condolences to David Johnston and the Haynes Family on the passing of their beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Barbara Haynes.

Barbara lived an active and impactful life. She will be fondly remembered for her dedication to helping others, supporting medical education and research through the Warren Haynes Neuroscience Research Fellowship since 1998.

With our thoughts and sympathies, we share the family obituary:

---

Terrific mother to Jen and Cath, widow of the late Warren Haynes, dearly beloved wife of David Johnston, much loved sister to Inge and Marg, Grannie to James, Will, Max, Celeste, and Lucy, favourite mother-in-law to Pete, and aunt to Ian, James, Geoff, and Liz.

She loved her family, her friends, and her Henkel Champagne (piccolo). A Friend of the Royal Melbourne Hospital, a Patron of RMH Music Therapy, sole benefactor of the Warren Haynes Fellowship at the RMH Neuroscience Foundation, and a Patron of Corpus Medicorum, Barbara was an inspiring philanthropist. She was a kind and wise woman, with a wicked sense of humour, she was widely loved and will be dearly missed.

Private Family Cremation and Memorial Service to be advised.
