SHARP is looking for a diverse range of UOW health student volunteers for our upcoming Rural High School Visit!

This year, the SHARP team will be travelling to the Far North Coast of NSW!!! Over the course of four days, we will visit a number of local towns and schools where we will talk with students about health-related tertiary study and encourage students to consider undertaking a health discipline at a tertiary level!

All costs will be covered by UOW SHARP.
Applications close on Thursday 7th November at 11:59pm.

What is the point of a Rural High School Visit?
📌 Educating high school students about health professions and pathways to entry in Australia.
📌 Engaging with students to get them interested in rural health and education
📌 Getting immersed in rural communities in the Northern Territory
📌 Helping run and create exciting activities.

It is your lucky day!!! Applications have been extended for the final ‘Go Rural’ road trip and close tomorrow!!! 🎉

WHERE WILL YOU BE GOING? 📍
The trip will be going through the towns on the far north coast of NSW including Byron Bay, Kingscliff and Port Macquarie.

WHO CAN APPLY? 👨🏿‍⚕️🧑🏻‍⚕️👩🏽‍⚕️
This trip is open to ALL nursing, midwifery, allied health and paramedicine students as well as medical students (1st and 2nd year).

These trips provide an amazing opportunity to experience some of the wonderful communities of rural, regional and remote NSW and make connections. The RDN have a PACKED itinerary featuring some inspiring speakers, amazing facilities and plenty of opportunities to connect with local communities and potential future colleagues. 🌞

Jump onboard for the Go Rural trip, taking off in early May 2024!

Applications open now, closing 12th of April!

Go Rural applications are OPEN! Keep your applications rolling in for Go Rural #1 of 2024!

From 2-5 May, RDN will be taking 20 medical, nursing, and allied health students on a road trip through , , , , , and more!

This trip will showcase the perks of living in these communities, and the opportunities which exist for those looking to progress their healthcare careers, as well as highlighting Indigenous health and culture within these regions.

Curious about Rural Health? Want to get a taster of what rural practice on the beautiful South Coast is like?

Don't miss out on the fourth and final RDN Go Rural trip for 2023!

The trip will run from the 9-12th of November, and will explore towns such as Milton, Narooma, Moruya, Bega, Cooma, Goulburn, and more!

Go Rural offers a chance for medical, nursing, and allied health students to witness firsthand what life and work looks like in rural NSW, and this trip offers an insight into the beautiful south coast region!

If you missed out on attending the most talked-about immersion experience available for medical, nursing and allied health students, now is your chance to be part of it!
Go Rural road trips provide the opportunity to see first-hand what rural work and life has to offer.
The fourth and final Go Rural road trip for 2023 will be held 9-12 November. We will travel through the beautiful Eurobodalla Shire visiting the townships of Bega and Moruya, then back to Sydney via the Monaro and Goulburn!
