Councillor Donna Gates serves the people of Division 3 and was the city’s Deputy Mayor from 2012 until April 2025.

She is an experienced representative who enthusiastically represents northern Gold Coast. Councillor Donna Gates serves the people of Division 3 and has been the city’s Deputy Mayor since 2012. Cr Gates has had a strong focus on the delivery of major infrastructure for the northern community, including the Upper Coomera Centre, the Ormeau Centre and the Pimpama Sports Hub.

costs are down a little from the $1million cost of removal of a couple of years back – but still negatively impacts local neighbourhoods. Each time graffiti occurs in public spaces there is an associated cost for removal – funds that could be better spent on improvements to our area. The Graffiti Removals team did an exceptional job this week quickly removing graffiti from several locations at Upper Coomera and Coomera. Please continue to report graffiti to me on 5581 6598 or division3@goldcoast.qld.gov.au as soon as possible so that it can be removed without delay.

The risk of bushfire is heightened between September and December each year, although seasonal changes can extend or shorten over this period. The Coomera Valley Rural Fire Brigade are preparing - training new members, conducting hazard reduction burns and educating community members to prevent, prepare for, respond to and recover from the impacts of fire and emergency events. Thank you to a truly incredible team but let’s hope we don’t need to call on their services!

NHW Qld and Upper Coomera State College teamed together tonight to present the Think U Know program, alerting parents to on-line predators. I wish I’d thought to post in advance because these are different days for young people with access to chat platforms and parental guidance is crucial.

COOMERA ANGLICAN COLLEGE HUB OPENS
Exciting to be at the opening of the new Hub building at CAC today. Mr Innes-Hill and Michael Crandon MP welcomed us to “Christen” the magnificent new Theatre and enjoy a tour of the new facilities. The College students are most definitely very fortunate.

There is currently a fire in the Scenic Rim. It is moving slowly in an easterly direction down the hill towards Wongawallan. There is currently no threat to property and Officers will closely monitor the situation.
