🫀💥Super-Natural Healing, Wednesday March 4, 6:30pm 🫀💥

We’re opening the clinic next Wednesday for another Super-Natural Healing evening.

Last week’s Meditation & The Mechanics of the Mind filled quickly. The recording didn’t capture, and the response from the room was strong. A lot of you asked for another chance to attend, and we also want to capture this teaching properly to share more widely.

So we’re running it again.

About 👇🏽
Meditation has been pulled out of its original context and reduced to something to manage, measure, or improve. Many people sit down to practise and end up working hard at it. Trying to quiet the mind. Trying to get somewhere. Feeling like they are failing when thought continues.

That approach and effort is exhausting.

This evening is a live exploration of what meditation actually is, what the mind actually is, and how meditation can guide a life rather than become another arena of self-improvement.

will teach and guide multiple short meditation experiences so the insight becomes tangible in your own system. and he will jam on personal stories and open the dialogue with you all.

Pay-what-you-can, minimum $5.
Limited to 20 people.

Super-Natural Healing at Powerhouse

Super-Natural Healing is a series of monthly community evenings at Powerhouse Mind Body Chiro.

SUPER-NATURAL HEALING: The natural intelligence of the body expressed at its full capacity.

These evenings are an extension of that principle. They are designed to give back to our patients and the wider Gold Coast community by expanding what healing can look like.

Each month, we invite someone from within our extended community — practitioners, teachers, elders, mentors, people who sit with birth, people who sit with death, meditation teachers, somatic therapists, yoga practitioners, psychotherapists, body workers, breathwork coaches, acupuncturists, leaders in men’s work and disability care. These are not strangers to us. They are people whose wisdom we know firsthand.

For a few hours on a Wednesday evening, we open the clinic, move the tables, and turn it into a community space. There will be conversation with Dr. Ryan, personal stories, decades of lived experience, and practical moments where you can feel and explore what is being shared.

Powerhouse holds these evenings because we believe community is cultural repair work. When we gather, learn, create alliances and invest in each other, something strengthens that goes beyond symptom care.

These events are pay-what-you-can with a small minimum. The minimum is there to honour the commitment and the many hands involved in holding the space well.

Super-Natural Healing is here to remind you what your body and your life are capable of — and to deepen appreciation for yourself, to celebrate the opportunity of this Life and the people around you.

Thank you last nights Mechanics of the Mind community event was 🧠 💨 🤯

A great appreciation to those who came and soaked in the wisdom and practice. What a beautiful intimate evening, it was clear the room was moved and that what was so generously gifted by Kurt left its mark.
More snippets of the evening yet to come.
We’re considering sending the recording — who would be keen?

When I first started meditating, I genuinely thought the goal was to quiet my mind.

I believed that if I was doing it properly there would be less thinking, less internal noise, and more calm. I assumed meditation was supposed to feel peaceful. And if it didn’t, I thought I was failing at it.

What I didn’t understand at the time is that my mind wasn’t malfunctioning. It was doing what it is designed to do. It scans, it anticipates, it problem solves, it protects. As someone who works with nervous systems every day, perhaps I should have recognised that earlier. The body responds to perceived threat. It adapts. It compensates. It doesn’t switch off just because we tell it to.

The more I tried to control my thoughts, the more pressure I created internally. The effort to “calm down” actually made me more tense. I was trying to dominate a system that responds far better to understanding than force.

Over time, what shifted was not the volume of thought. It was my relationship to it. I began to notice that awareness itself was steady, even when my thinking wasn’t. I could observe stress without immediately adding more stress on top of it. I could feel activation in my body without assuming something had gone wrong.

That has changed the way I work, the way I parent, and the way I show up in my relationships. Meditation for me is no longer about achieving silence. It is about learning how my system operates and relating to it with a bit more intelligence and a bit less aggression.

Next Wednesday I’m sitting down in-house with to yarn with you all about The Mechanics of the Mind.

It’s a free event for patients and we’ve only got a handful of spots left.

If you’ve tried meditation before and felt like it was chaos in there and decided it wasn’t for you, I understand that. That was my experience too.

Maybe this conversation is the one that changes how you see it.

I’d love to have you there.

We love to think that if we just “fix” our thinking, everything changes.
But thinking is downstream.

Your state drives your thoughts.

Don’t get stuck on the vehicle. It’s not about running. It’s not about journaling. It’s not about any one tool.

It’s about understanding that you have agency over your state.

This is something I still trip up on because, truly, my mind is powerful and it’s supported me in tangible ways in my life. And—it’s also one of the most common ways I get in my own way; get in life’s way.

Meditation—focus and presence with conscious awareness are far more energetically sustainable levers to pull. There’s no requirement of mastery, only a willingness to allow yourself to move into the slip stream.

There’s a bottom line foundation that underpins how accessible it is and, as humbling as it is— it’s a choice to move into the place in me that knows this 👆🏼
The place of trust.

Next Wednesday night I’m sitting down in the clinic for the first of mean super healing conversations we’re having with guests practitioners in the clinic. will be joining us for Mechanics of the Mind and the Purpose of Meditation. We’ve got a few spots left before we’re full. 🔗 is in the bio.
I’d love to have you there.

I have intimate experience with trying to solve something with my mind that needed my presence and awareness, not my rejection of it. And I can confirm, it’s humbling. Humbling because I tried so very hard. I put a lot of effort into it. And most of all, I struggled with it, realising I was approaching something in a way that only intensified the problem, when I could have leaned back and let it soften and dissolve instead. I don’t mean to sound cryptic; it’s simple: I used to be almost entirely oriented to intellectualising my way through change, so what I’m speaking to is broad!!! What do you mean by figuring it out won’t equate to behavioural change? What do you mean, approaching it as an issue is what causes most of the tension, sickness and pain? Humbling. Perhaps you relate? On Wednesday Feb 25th, I’m bringing from into Powerhouse for our first of many evenings of Healing Talks. Would you like to join us? We’re already more than half full. It’s an evening of exploring the mechanics of the mind and the purpose of meditation, you’ll find the 🔗 above. I’d love to have you there. This bro has taught me so much about how to relate to my mind and thoughts, and it’s significantly changed my life for the better many times over.

HEALING TALKS IS HERE 💥 monthly on Wednesday evenings.

Once a month, we pull back the tables, bring in the lounge, and open up the clinic space in a different way.

Over the year, we will welcome guest teachers and practitioners into the room of different modalities that complement what you receive here.

Every single one of them is someone who has personally impacted us, inspired us, and shaped the way we think about health and life. These are practitioners we know, trust, and stand behind. People whose values align with ours and whose work has changed us in meaningful ways.

These evenings are designed around education through experience. They are not sit-and-take-notes lectures. They are real conversations, shared learning, and lived perspective. There will always be space to arrive, connect, and drop in before we move into experiential learning. Each practitioner will bring a piece of what they do into the evening so you can feel it for yourself.

The aim is simple. To support insight, clarity, and real change in how you understand your body, your mind, and your health. This is our way of expanding care beyond the table and creating a place to gather.

Our first healing night will be announced later tonight. Comment ‘healing’ below for the link to the first evening 25th of this month—we’re already half booked!!!

Included for our patients.
Pay what you can for community guests.
This has been a long time coming, everyone. We’re pumped to bring this to you!

💥 WHAT GETS MISSED WITH SHOULDER PROBLEMS 💥 👇🏽

So often, people go to the shoulder when the global issue is not the shoulder itself. What about the neck, first rib, shoulder blade, thorax and neuromuscular connection?

If you’ve got a shoulder issue and looking for functionality and a holistic approach, reach out for an assessment 💥

Pain is information. Making someone comfortable while they remain in what’s making them sick doesn’t support healing.

This snippet is from a guest teaching call I presented at around innate intelligence. I shared that when we rush to make people comfortable, we often take away their opportunity to hear the message and receive the life medicine that’s being offered.

Well, Powerhouse fam. It’s official. You’ll be seeing me (Amber) around Powerhouse a little more these days. For those of you I’ve never met — I’m Ryan’s partner and the mother of our son, Anniken, and it’ll be a great pleasure to meet you sometime in the near future. I don’t have an official title because I would prefer to be known simply as the one thinking about how to weave it all together for Ry, the team, and your experience. I have a 13 year career devoted to Rites of Passage, culture repair and Multi-Disciplinary Healing, and now I’m so deep in tending to the world we create for our boy that I'm doing 80% less in that realm right now and have the space to give to PH. I won’t be in-house too regularly. Only when the team needs an extra hand behind the desk. Mainly, I’ll be helping with in-house education workshops, community events and communications (emails/socials). I intend to create more opportunities for your care to extend beyond your adjustment here, to bring Ryan’s vision for this place to Life, and ensure Powerhouse is a place you feel at home. I’m the beautifier and caretaker of the extra pieces. How good are the new squishy mats and the custom-made shelf—hey?! If you see me around the clinic and I don’t have a blonde curly/crazy haired wildly hanging off me, I’ll always do my best to check in. I encourage you to let me know what you’d like to see in the clinic as we roll out our workshops, podcasts and extra resources coming your way soon. It’s a joy to meet you all. In the future, we may even open the books for additional support through my ‘other’ work in Holistic and Somatic Therapy. More on that later.
With care,
Ambs
