From what I can see there appears to be a greater incidence in gut related issues presenting with people. Symptoms such as bloating, belching, reflux and indigestion and often times accompanied by diarrhea and food sensitivities.
Mal-digestion and mal-absorption occur for a variety of reasons and discomfort and inflammation in the gut can be aggravated by pathogens. Commonly I see H-pylori and the damage this does to the mucosal lining is very concerning as if not treated, results in ulcers and even stomach cancer.
Stress has been shown to weaken the digestive system which in turn undermines the potency of our stomach acid starting a cascade of issues that can seem unrelated.
Supporting the bodies stress response, removing the offending pathogens and supporting healthy digestion and gut healing is the process back to health. The tough part of this is that we need to educate ourselves on improving our diet and choice of foods and being aware of environmental toxins.
