Most mums don’t take time for themselves. 🤷🏼

They push through the tight neck, the sore back…
and the constant “I’ll deal with it later.”

So when Mother’s Day comes around, more “stuff” isn’t really what they need...

This is something they’ll actually use.

60-minute massage gift voucher
$85 (usually $100)

A simple way to help them switch off, move a little easier, and finally take a moment for themselves. 💚

We’ve only got a limited number available.

Still having pain doesn’t mean you’re not improving.

A lot of people expect rehab to be:
👉 Pain gone = progress
👉 Pain present = no progress

But it doesn’t work like that.

Real progress often looks like:
✔️ More pain-free movement
✔️ Less pain with the same load
✔️ Less soreness and fatigue
✔️ Getting stronger
✔️ Thinking about it less day to day

Pain is just one piece of the puzzle.

If you’re seeing these signs, you’re probably on the right track.

Still dealing with shoulder pain that keeps coming back? 👇

Most people aren’t stuck because their shoulder is “damaged”…
They’re stuck because of a few common mistakes:

❌ Resting it for too long
❌ Doing random exercises
❌ Avoiding movement completely

These might help short-term…
but they don’t actually fix the problem. 🫣

👉 The goal isn’t just to reduce pain
It’s to rebuild your shoulder so it can handle load again.

If your shoulder keeps flaring up, it’s probably not fully resolved yet.

Save this for later, or send it to someone who needs it 👍

Still dealing with shoulder pain? It’s usually these 3 mistakes:

1. Resting it for too long
Rest can calm things down short-term… but it doesn’t rebuild strength or tolerance.

2. Doing random exercises from Google
Not all exercises are bad… but doing the wrong ones at the wrong stage can keep you stuck.

3. Avoiding movements completely
If you stop using your shoulder altogether, it often becomes more sensitive over time, not less.

👉 The goal isn’t just to reduce pain.
It’s to rebuild your shoulder so it can handle load again.

That’s what we focus on with our physio clients.

If your shoulder keeps flaring up and you’re not sure what to do next, feel free to comment or send me a message 👍

Stop 🛑 stretching strained muscles!

You can think of a strain like a frayed rope.
If you keep pulling at it, you risk making it worse.

That “tight” feeling is often your body trying to protect the area, not something that needs to be stretched out.

A better approach to healing a muscle strain:
✔️ Let symptoms settle first
✔️ Start with isometric loading
✔️ Gradually rebuild strength and tolerance

This is where most people get stuck…
They calm down the pain, but never rebuild capacity. This puts you at risk of re-injury!

If something keeps lingering or flaring up, it usually needs a more structured rehab plan. 📝

If your shoulder pain keeps coming back… it’s probably not healed. 🥴

It just settled down.

Rest → feels better → back to training → flares again 🔄

This cycle usually isn’t a “serious injury”.

It’s just that your shoulder isn’t prepared for the load yet. 😬

Until that changes, it keeps coming back.

What flares your shoulder up the most right now?

Pressing? Overhead? Sleeping on it?

If your shoulder pain keeps coming back… it’s probably not healed. 🫣

It just settled down.

That’s the cycle most people get stuck in:
Rest → feels better → back to training → flares again.

So they rest again… and repeat. 🔄

The problem isn’t usually a “serious injury”.

It’s that your shoulder isn’t quite prepared for the load yet.

Until that changes, the pain tends to keep coming back.

Quick question:

What flares your shoulder up the most right now?

• Pressing?
• Overhead work?
• Sleeping on it?

If your pain keeps coming back… it’s probably not healed. 😬

A lot of people we see in Varsity Lakes aren’t dealing with a “new” injury...

It’s the same:
💥 Back
💥 Shoulder
💥 Hip

It settles down… then flares up again a few weeks later.

👉 That usually means the pain reduced, but the original problem wasn’t actually resolved.

Rest and stretching can help symptoms...

But if you don’t rebuild strength and tolerance through the area,
it’s very easy to end up stuck in the same cycle. 🔄

At Next Level Physiotherapy, we focus on:
• Understanding why it keeps coming back
• Building strength around the issue
• Giving you a clear plan to move forward with confidence

If something keeps flaring up, it’s worth addressing properly.

It’s not just “bad form" or "I'm getting old". 😬

Most people try to push through it, stretch it out, or stop benching altogether. 🥺

But the real issue is usually this:

👉 Your shoulder isn’t tolerating the load you’re asking of it.

That can come from:
❌ AC joint irritation
❌ Biceps tendon overload
❌ Poor load management
❌ Lack of strength or control

The goal isn’t to avoid bench press forever...

It’s to rebuild the capacity so your shoulder can handle it again. 💪🏼

I break this down in more detail here:

If your pain keeps coming back, it’s worth getting it properly assessed. 🤓 Link in bio to book.

If your pain keeps coming back… it’s probably not just because “you’re getting old.”

We hear this all the time in the clinic:
🗯️“My back is just bad because I’m getting older.”
🗯️“My shoulder’s worn out.”
🗯️“My knee will never be the same.”

➡️ But in most cases, that’s not actually the reason. 😬
What we usually see is:

• The area has lost strength or tolerance over time 📉
• Load has increased too quickly (or hasn’t been progressed properly) 😫
• The issue was never fully rehabilitated in the first place...

That’s why it keeps coming back.

The good news? You don’t need to stop doing what you enjoy, you just need to build the capacity to handle it again. 👏🏼👏🏼

At Next Level Physiotherapy, we help a lot of locals work through these exact issues using a combination of:

✅ Hands-on treatment (manual therapy)
✅ Dry needling
✅ Massage
✅ Exercise-based rehab

The goal isn’t just short-term relief, it’s helping you move with confidence again. 🤓
