🌿 Important Update: MyTurf Autism Camp 🌿
After five wonderful years, we’ve made the difficult decision to conclude the MyTurf Autism Camp, known to many families as Camp 38. 💛
This was one of the first programs of its kind in South Australia — a family-inclusive experience that built confidence, connection, and understanding within the autistic community. It was never a program of profit, but a program of service — made possible through our organisation’s philanthropy and the income generated by our other social enterprises. 🌻
This generosity meant that whole families could participate together, well beyond what was covered through their NDIS plans. We’re proud to have invested so deeply in a program that made such a difference to so many.
Delivering a program of this depth has always been complex, and recent NDIS reforms — particularly since the passage of the NDIS Amendment Bill last year — have made it increasingly difficult for genuine, community-based initiatives like ours to remain viable. While these reforms aim to improve the system, they’ve also placed greater pressure on small organisations that operate with heart, integrity, and care. 💬
We’re incredibly proud of what the MyTurf Autism Camp achieved — the growth in young people and families, the lasting friendships, and the countless special moments shared along the way. While the journey hasn’t always been easy, it has been an absolute privilege and a pleasure to walk alongside so many wonderful families. 🌈
To our families, staff, specialist team, volunteers, and to the Toc H South Australia Board and members — thank you. 🙏 Your belief made something truly special possible, and your support has been invaluable. 💫
As this chapter closes, our focus turns to the future — continuing to build inclusive, community-driven initiatives that create belonging, purpose, and opportunity for all. 🌿✨
The legacy of the MyTurf Autism Camp will always remain part of who we are, and we can’t wait to share what comes next. 💛
