Jodie picked up her new frames and they look fantastic! 👓✨

She chose Stepper frames, which are specifically designed with comfort front of mind. Made from lightweight titanium, they’re so comfortable you’ll forget you’re even wearing them! With a wide range of styles, they’re a great option for everyday wear.

We’re so happy to officially welcome Leela to See Optometry!

Many of you may already have met her around the practice, but we wanted to give her a proper introduction. Leela is an established optometrist who brings valuable experience to our team, along with a warm, thoughtful approach and a genuine passion for caring for people in our community.

As a Fleurieu local, Leela loves being able to look after patients close to home and build the kind of genuine relationships that make independent optometry so special. She takes the time to help each person feel comfortable, listened to and well cared for throughout their visit.

From your consultation and scans through to helping you choose your new glasses, Leela will look after you every step of the way.

Outside the practice, Leela loves gardening and spending time with her dog, Marty, and some of her patients may already know she is always up for a chat about flowers, gardens and local life.

We feel very lucky to have Leela at See Optometry, and now you have two excellent optometrists here to look after you.

Please join us in giving her a warm official welcome!

How lovely is this?

One of our patients surprised us with this beautiful bunch of flowers when she came in to collect her new glasses after chatting with Leela about gardening and flowers during her appointment. It is such a special reminder that eye care is about people, connection and the little moments that make our days brighter.💐

👓 Happy World Optometry Day! 👓

Today, we’re celebrating the work that goes into caring for your vision every day.

A big thank you to Martin and Leela, whose dedication to thorough, personalised eye care helps support the vision and eye health of our local community. From early detection of eye conditions to taking the time to truly understand each patient, their work plays an important role in helping our community see clearly and live confidently.

We’re so lucky to have them! 👓✨

For Neurodiversity Week, we’re celebrating the many different ways brains work and learn. 🌈

Vision plays an important role in how children read, focus, move and interact with the world around them. Through his training in paediatric and behavioural optometry, Martin works with neurodiverse children to assess how the eyes and brain work together and how this may affect everyday activities. Appointments are tailored to each child, and we take things at their pace to help them feel comfortable, supported and understood.

Every child experiences the world differently, and understanding how vision contributes can make a real difference.

We were so pleased to kick off our first local school vision screening for 2026 on Monday, with 73 Foundation and Year 7 students from Encounter Lutheran College taking part in free in-school screenings.

This was the first of our local school screening visits for the year, and a great way to support children’s vision, learning and wellbeing in our community. Alongside five students from the Flinders University School of Optometry, Leela and Martin were pleased to be able to help identify any potential vision concerns early, because clear and comfortable vision plays such an important role in learning, reading and classroom confidence.

A big thank you to the school for welcoming us, and to the Flinders optometry students for their help on the day. We love being able to work together to support local families and schools!

We donated sunglasses for a whole class as a raffle prize at the Victor Harbor Primary School Twilight Fair last week! 😎

Congratulations to Sam and his mum, who were the lucky winners! That means Sam’s entire Reception class is now set with sunglasses, helping keep young eyes protected.

It was great to see Sam and some of his classmates already enjoying their new shades. Sun safety and eye protection never looked so cool! 🌞👓
