An Update on Bulk Billing Changes
We've had questions about the new bulk billing incentive program that started November 1st.
The government's Bulk Billing Practice Incentive Program (BBPIP) provides payments to practices that bulk-bill all patients for all consultations. After careful consideration, Hammond Health has decided not to participate in this program at this time.
While we support improving healthcare affordability, the program requires 100% bulk billing to receive any payment. Our medical colleges advocated for a different approach that would have better balanced patient affordability with sustainable practice operations.
What this means for you: Our billing practices remain unchanged, and we remain committed to providing quality care to our community.
We understand healthcare costs are important to everyone. If you have questions, please reach out to us directly.
The most recent RACGP article:

After months of promotion, the Government’s landmark changes have so far convinced just 13% of metropolitan practices to change to fully bulk billing.

Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the world’s number one killer. Combined, conditions affecting the heart or blood vessels – such as heart attack, stroke and heart failure – kill more than 20.5 million every year. The majority of these deaths happen in low- and middle-income countries.

We want to bring this number down – way down. And there’s hope: 80% of premature deaths from CVD are preventable. By making small changes to our lifestyle – what we eat and drink, how much we exercise, and how we manage stress – we can better manage our heart health and beat CVD.

Ask R U OK? Any Day because life happens every day.
A lot can happen in a year, a month, a week. Whether it’s your friend, family member, colleague, partner, or teammate, the people you care about go through life’s ups and downs every day.
By having regular, meaningful conversations, you build trust and normalise talking about what’s really going on, so when the people in your world find themselves struggling, they know you’re someone they can talk to.

Welcome to Hammond Health

Dr Patricia Overvliet (Tricia) and her husband Ray, have established Hammond Health with the core value of providing a high standard of patient care in a warm, comfortable and inclusive environment.

In the last 8 months, the practice has grown to include Dr Anna Gear, who brings her very own special and amazing practice of medicine. Anna has been welcomed with open arms by Hammond Health.

In August this year (2020), we welcome Dr Katherine Smith, another absolutely amazing doctor. Katherine starts soon and has already received a very warm welcome. We cannot wait for her to start.
