Jayde has been receiving NDIS supports across both social and employment streams. She is a wonderful example of what dedication & inclusion can achieve when the right supports are in place. With the assistance of her NDIS supports, Jayde enrolled in a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education working steadily toward her long-term employment goals.
As part of her community and social participation, Jayde joined the Inclusive Storytime program, where she attended a local childcare centre in a group setting. Through this program, Jayde was able to practise and strengthen her reading skills by reading stories to children in a real-world environment. This experience not only supported Jaydes learning and confidence, but also created meaningful community impact. Children were positively exposed to people living with a disability in a natural, inclusive way, helping to build understanding, acceptance, and reduce stigma from a young age.
Jayde’s positive attitude, commitment to learning, and willingness to step outside her comfort zone did not go unnoticed.
As a result of her hard work and dedication, she was offered a part time position (PPT) at the childcare centre. Her employer also supported her ongoing development by allowing her Certificate III to be transferred internally, enabling Jayde to receive paid study time while continuing her qualification. More recently, Jayde has been offered a fourth day of employment, reflecting the trust her workplace has in her abilities and the value she brings to the team.
Despite these achievements, Jayde continues to access her employment supports on her fifth day, demonstrating her strong commitment to further developing her skills and independence. Jayde consistently shows a positive attitude toward work, embraces challenges with determination, and actively engages in her community.
Her journey highlights the power of inclusive opportunities and the incredible outcomes that can be achieved when individuals are supported to follow their goals. We are so proud of you Jayde 👏
