Exposure to loud sounds for long periods of time is a leading cause of gradual hearing loss.

While there are loud sounds in our daily lives, it's particularly important to protect ourselves from any loud noises in the workplace, where we can spend upwards of 40 hours per week.

Sounds above 80 dB, heard for periods longer than 40 hours a week can lead to hearing loss by damaging the sensory hair cells within the inner ear which can cause both hearing loss, and other noise-induced problems such as insomnia and cardiovascular illness.

Be safe in the workplace, use ear muffs around loud sounds, turn the volume down and take listening breaks where possible.
