📢🐾 Cleaver has now been found and returned home 🐾📢
🚨 Missing 🚨
One of our LRV Family is missing, Cleaver. Last seen around the Francis Ave/Stafford Street area in Gundagai.
If anyone sees him or know where he is, please let our team know. He is a much loved family member, and is usually only indoors so has very few street survival skills 💔

Patient Update: Our Brave Black Cat—Now “Halloween” 🖤🎃🐾
A Huge Thank You, Wagga!
First, massive gratitude to our incredible community—over 40 donations so far, big and small. Every single gift matters, and because of your kindness, this sweet girl has received the emergency treatment she urgently needed. 💙
Breakthrough moment: it’s Halloween night, and our patient is a beautiful black cat… so we’ve officially named her Halloween “Hallie”. Perfect timing, perfect name, and a huge boost for her spirit (and our team’s!). 🎃✨
How Hallie’s going this afternoon:
🏥 In ICU with 24-hour care
💧 On a drip (IV fluids)
💊 Comfortable with pain relief
🧪 Antivenom has been given
🐍 She is showing significant paralysis (typical of brown snake envenomation in cats), so she’ll need time and rehab for her mobility to return
We’re sorry for any delays in updates—we’re working flat-out with Hallie and several other emergency/ICU patients. Thank you for your patience while we focus on what matters most: getting her better. 🙏
Here’s the good news: she’s in the right place—safe, warm, and surrounded by vets and nurses who adore her. Without your generosity, she may have gone to a shelter with an uncertain fate. You changed her story.
And to any negativity online: please know kindness is winning here. Our community showed up, and Hallie is proof. 🌟
Want to keep helping?
💙 Donations of any size go directly to Hallie’s ongoing care and rehab

🚨 URGENT UPDATE: Our Black Stray Needs Antivenom in the Next Couple of Hours 🖤🐾
Our little black cat patient is fighting hard after a suspected brown snake bite. The team is working around the clock, but she’s struggling to stay stable and we have a very small window—just a couple of hours—to get antivenom on board. This is the moment our Wagga community can change her story.
How you can help right now:
💙 Donate—every dollar is doubled. Lake Road Vet staff will chip in dollar-for-dollar to make your gift go further.
📝 Name her! We need a real name for her medical records (and her little soul). Drop your suggestions in the comments—short, sweet, and full of hope.
🏠 Interested in adopting? If you’ve been waiting for a sign, this is it. Comment or DM us to register your interest and we’ll guide you through next steps when she’s stable.
Your contribution—even a small amount—helps cover antivenom, IV fluids, pain relief, and close monitoring. Together, we can get her through the next critical hours and into a safe, loving future.
👉 Please donate, comment a name, share this post, and spread the word.
Thank you, Wagga. You’re her heroes today. 🐱💙
We have had a black domestic medium-hair cat rushed into the hospital with a suspected snake bite. She urgently needs medical treatment and supportive care. 💔🐾
She has no microchip and no ID – we are desperately trying to find her family. If you recognise this sweet girl, please contact us immediately. ⏳
We are currently providing pain relief and first aid to keep her stable, but we have already taken on Jack (hit by a car) and Banjo (our little epileptic fighter) this week. We are well beyond our rescue capacity right now and sadly cannot provide full treatment beyond emergency stabilisation without an owner or sponsor.
If you recognise her or if someone is in a position to adopt her and cover her medical treatment, we would love to hear from you urgently. She is such a gentle little soul and deserves a chance. ❤️
📞 Please contact us ASAP if you:
✔️ Know who she belongs to
✔️ Can adopt and take over her medical care
✔️ Can share this post to help her
✔️ Are willing to sponsor her treatment
UPDATE: 9am
Her condition is stable but she doesn't have long. Three important things;

Meet Banjo — our newest orphaned ICU patient 💚🐾
This sweet 6-month-old kelpie has no family and urgently needs care. He’s a special-needs patient and we’re seeking a dedicated foster or adoptive fur parent who can provide close supervision, calm routines, and lots of one-on-one love while we guide his treatment.
How you can help:
• Donate to Banjo’s ICU care & tests (every bit helps) 🙏
• Foster/Adopt if you can commit to a special-needs patient 🏡
• Share to reach his future family 🔁
Lake Road Vet will support his new family every step of the way. 💚

💚 Thank you, The Daily Advertiser! 🗞️🐾
A huge shout-out to The Daily Advertiser for sharing Jack’s story and his post-op update. Your coverage helped rally our incredible Wagga community around one of our most vulnerable patients—and it’s made a real, life-changing difference. 🙏
Because of the compassion in this town, fur parents and neighbours alike stepped up to help a homeless pet in his time of need. Jack’s on the road to recovery after a mammoth surgery, and we’re so grateful to every single person who donated, shared, and sent love. This is what community looks like. 🤝💛
From all of us at Lake Road Vet—thank you, Daily Advertiser, and thank you, Wagga. You’re the heroes of Jack’s story. We’re honoured to be the guide on his journey back to health. 🌟
Be the first to know and let us send you an email when Lake Road Vet posts news and promotions. Your email address will not be used for any other purpose, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
At the end of each year Lake Rd Vet loves to share the Christmas spirit with the clients and community who make up the Lake Rd Vet Family. This has been a tradition for the last five years and is looked forward to by all our staff and junior family members.
Santa is a big focus for all our fur babies who can’t wait to whisper in his ear, give him a big slurpy kiss and have their photo taken with him.
There are lots of fur baby competitions like best dressed and most Christmassy pet. The younger pet owners enjoy the jumping castle and face painting.
The sausage sizzle is popular and you can still buy baubles for the giving tree. Profits from these activities benefit local rescue groups.
It’s a great atmosphere so we’d love to see you at Lake Road Vet Clinic on Friday 20th December at 6:00 pm.
