Offering condolences is an important gesture in difficult times.
We sometimes find it hard to put into words how to comfort someone, and typically start with "I'm sorry for your loss". When you're lost for words and want something a little more personal, you can try:
💙 Make it personal by mentioning their loved one's name.
💙Acknowledge that the loved one is a son, daughter, mum, and so many other things.
💙 Recognize their loved one's impact and family legacy.
💙 Avoid assuming you know their exact feelings and emphasize your support.
There is nothing wrong with saying "I'm sorry for your loss", but saying something a little more personal can make the world of difference.
