Yesterday I saw a very young man, maybe 17, awkwardly carrying a big bouquet and a bag from a jewellers. Ready to impress someone on ’s day, I thought. I did feel a bit sad for him! Romantic gestures are wonderful but they are a trimming on the true nature of love.

Love love love this podcast!! If you find parenting a challenge (who doesn’t?) I can’t recommend this enough. Practical, engaging, relevant.
First episode on screen time is a must for every young family!!

“Self care” is thrown around a lot these days as a way of dealing with stress. Self care is less about pampering and more about taking responsibility for myself. I can look to others to help me feel better, or I can own up to caring for myself.
If my body is feeling tired, instead of a massage, maybe I need to stretch every morning and start a realistic walking routine to wake up my body. Instead of seeking emotional relief by grabbing a donut or two, self care is about recognising what I’m trying to “medicate” with food, making honest room for the discomfort and finding some more compassionate responses instead.
Self care is about finding healthy habits, healthy boundaries, and self respect. There’s a new kind of freedom when we start taking back our choices.
