Today is RU OK day! But it doesn't have to be just today. It can be any day. In fact it needs to be that we look out for others around us. Recently we finished the mental health first aid training. We learnt the actions of below to help others who may be going through a mental health crisis or simply discouragement. It's ALGEE (not in any order):
A - Approach, Assess and Assist
L - Listen and communicate without judgment
G - Give support and information
E - Encourage the person to get professional help
E - Encourage other supports
Be the light for someone today. Even to ask if they are ok and that your door is always open. Be ready with information to help others. Join the next Mental Health First Aid training. Wellness in Action Saves Lives.

Day 1 Mental Health First Aid training. Thank you Leo Barreto for being an amazing accredited trainer and it has been useful to learn mental health illness and what to do in a crisis. We can have the skills and confidence to know how to help someone we care about, especially when there is a crisis.
