PULL UPS 💪🏽 I know these are something a lot of girls struggle with. Here’s some regressions today help you work up. Hardest ➡️ easiest. Also make sure that you work through different band stages. The thickest bands are the easiest (blue/green) and the harder ones are the thinner ones (purple,black & red). Keep practising these and BW pull-ups won’t be so far away! 😘

GLUTE FOCUSED ROMANIAN DEADLIFT (RDL) 💪🏽 This is how you want to perform an RDL for the most glute engagement with the least hamstring & quad engagement. For anyone who “can’t feel their glutes” or just wants to focus on glutes in particular this ones for you 😘
Important cues:
1. Stand on plates or blocks to elevate your feet BUT make sure you have the flexibility to lower the weight below your feet otherwise the plates are too high. Some people might need to start with just feet on the floor.
2. Stand wider than a conventional RDL, with knees bent and pushing out away from each other.
3. Breathe in and brace your core each rep keeping a neutral spine.
4. Think about stretching your glutes by pushing the hips as far as you can and lowering the weight below your feet/the plates.
5. Use your “mind muscle connection” trying to feel the glutes while they’re stretching. From there engage your glutes and push back up through the heels.

Here’s client Jordie getting her first ever set of 60KG deadlifts spot on! 💪🏼 here are some important cues to remember when deadlifting:
STARTING POSITION:
-Lats (the muscles under your armpits) down & back. Or “lats in your back pockets”.
-Hips down; you want your shoulders higher than your hips but your torso not as upright as a squat position.
-Barbell “grazing the shins”, basically if you start with the barbell close to you then it will be easier to keep close during the lift.
-Breathe in & brace the core this keeps the spine protected. It also makes your lift way stronger.
DURING:
-SQUEEZE your core, like really squeeze the f**k out of it! This will create a stable spine. Generally you want your back to be as flat as you can maintain it. However some spinal flexion (rounding of the upper back) is ok as long as it’s stable.
END POSITION:
-Strong & straight; the shoulder to the foot should all be in line. As you’re getting to the end position make sure you straighten your knees and get your hips through.
COMING DOWN:
-same core tightness & control. Unless you’re a power lifter don’t drop the barbell at the top. You get more out of each rep if you control the way down as well.

NEW PB FROM Daniel Braid 🥳🥳🥳 a month ago he was doing 85kg for 6 reps, now he’s up to 100kg for 6! He has been working hard putting in 💯 every session and it’s definitely paying off! 🙌🏻
