Travelling to Southeast Asia soon? There are currently measles outbreaks occurring in a number of countries including Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines and Indonesia.

Protect yourself and your family against measles by getting vaccinated before you travel. If you’re travelling to a high-risk area with a baby aged 6 to 18 months old, talk to your GP about whether you can get their free measles vaccines earlier than scheduled.

The measles vaccine is also free in NSW for anyone born during or after 1966 who hasn't already had two doses. Talk with your GP or pharmacist today to get protected! Please note they may charge a small fee to give the vaccine.

NSW Health is advising people who have been in the Sydney CBD area in the past 10 days to be on alert for symptoms of Legionnaires’ disease after seven people who have developed the disease spent time in the area in the last three weeks.

The three women and four men, ranging in age from their 20s to 70s, independently visited locations in the CBD between Bathurst Street, Sussex Street, Elizabeth Street and Circular Quay in the 10 days prior to their symptoms. All have been admitted to hospital for treatment of pneumonia.

All seven people have been identified with the Legionella bacteria that causes Legionnaires’ disease, which is often associated with contaminated cooling towers of large buildings.
