Wellness Vision is now located at the new Atune Health Centre in Cardiff. Functional Medicine Practitioner and Biomedical Naturopath, Jasmin Polley treats holistically and can help with all health conditions. Jasmin has a special interest in women’s hormonal health (especially perimenopause), as well as gut health (including irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and small intestine bacterial overgrowth (SIBO). She is also passionate about inspiring her clients to embrace a new trajectory for long-term wellness. Jasmin is a Certified Practitioner with the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM) and has a Masters in Nutrition and Functional Medicine, Bachelor degree in Biomedical Science and an Advanced Diploma in Naturopathy (including Nutrition and Herbal Medicine).

Your bloating comes and goes - and you can’t figure out why the same food causes it some days and not others. Here is the clinical explanation nobody has given you yet.

Last Saturday something really special happened in a gym in Cardiff - and we can’t stop thinking about it.

Normal is not the same as optimal. And that difference might be the reason you still feel terrible despite being told your results are fine.

If you’ve ever walked out of a GP appointment after being told “everything looks normal” and still felt exhausted, foggy, heavy, and not like yourself — this is for you.

Your reference range was built from a population average. It includes people who are unwell. It includes people who are barely functioning. Falling within that range means you don’t have a disease. It does not mean your levels are where they need to be for you to feel well.

Your TSH can be “normal” while your T3 is low and your body is struggling to convert thyroid hormone at all.

Your iron can be “normal” while your ferritin — your iron storage — is critically depleted. And low ferritin alone causes the kind of exhaustion that no amount of sleep will fix.

Your hormones can be “normal” on one blood test on one day — while your pattern, your rhythm, and the way your hormones are interacting across your cycle tells a completely different story.

Normal means the system didn’t flag you. It doesn’t mean your health is optimal.
