🎢 Q: How is music therapy different from entertainment and music education?

πŸ’› A: Music Therapy utilises the qualities of music along with the therapeutic relationship to support non-musical goals - building capacity in domains such as self expression, cognition, regulation, motor skills and community access. Unlike performances or lessons, the primary purpose of Music Therapy is to support recovery, growth and well-being through intentional, individualised and evidence-based music experiences.

βš–οΈTipping the scales!🎸

We focus on helping students make small, incremental achievements each week that add up to BIG progress in their playing πŸ’ͺ

This includes technical exercises like playing scales to a metronome or a set beat by the teacher. Rudra has been working hard on learning the Major Scale on guitar 🎸

He started off slow at 60 BPM (around one note per second). This week, he smashed it at a lightning-fast 240 BPM ⚑ Also known as Prestissimo – meaning "as fast as possible"!

πŸ‘ Great job, Rudra!
