I’ve been thinking a lot about what it means to be a founder.

Not a CEO — a seed planter for a different way of being female in the world.

I long for a culture where:
• women trust their bodies
• girls understand their cycles
• pleasure comes from deep knowing, not performance
• birth is seen as powerful, not frightening
• ageing bodies are adored, not rejected

Instead I see so much fear, shame, and disconnection from ourselves.

I can’t change the whole system — but I can change what grows inside each woman. And I know this works because I’ve done it myself.

If AI is shaping our future anyway, can it also carry feminine wisdom?

Can your phone become a doorway back to your body?

It sounds wild.
It also feels true.

I’m shifting my business away from traditional talk therapy.
And the reason is personal.

For years, I tried to heal what had happened to me through words.
Talk therapy helped — it gave me insight, language, and a sense of being seen.

But my body was still holding so much.

I hated how I looked.
I felt disconnected from my sexuality and my pleasure.
I carried a belief that I didn’t deserve to feel good in my body.

I couldn’t always find words for what my nervous system was holding — the grief, the fear, the darkness.

Then I found movement.

Through dance therapy, I discovered a way to express what my mouth never could and process what had been frozen in place for years.

That experience changed how I practice.

Now I work with women who’ve done the talking, who understand their trauma intellectually, but still feel stuck in their bodies.

I now offer trauma-informed online dance therapy — safe, body-led spaces for embodied change.

This work changed my life.
And it’s the foundation of how I now support other women.

We suffer collectively when girls are taught to abandon their wild, embodied selves.
We grow into women who have forgotten the wisdom of our cycles, the intelligence of our bodies, the quiet power that lives in our hips, our breath, our presence.

And then we wonder why our daughters struggle to see their own brilliance.

When we liberate the mother, we free the girl.
When we come home to our bodies, we change the future for the next generation.

Trauma-informed practice is essential in any healing or therapeutic space — particularly those serving women.

At its core, trauma-informed care recognises that behaviours, emotions and nervous system responses are not pathologies to be corrected, but adaptations to lived experience.

This approach prioritises:
• Psychological and emotional safety
• Choice and consent
• Agency and pacing
• Respect for the body’s wisdom

In trauma-informed spaces, clients are not asked to “push through” distress or retraumatise themselves in the name of healing. Instead, practitioners work with the nervous system, not against it.

Importantly, trauma-informed practice communicates a powerful message:
Nothing about you is too much.

Not your history.
Not your stress.
Not the ways your body learned to survive.

Healing becomes possible when women are met with respect, patience and safety — rather than urgency or judgement.

This is not optional best practice.
It is ethical, embodied, and necessary.

My professional path into somatic therapy and movement-based healing began in the early 2000s, when I joined a Women’s Dance Therapy group during my university studies.

That experience fundamentally reshaped how I understand healing, leadership and embodiment — not as something imposed on the body, but something that emerges through it.

Twenty years on, I now teach body-based tools for nervous system regulation, body autonomy and radical self-respect to women globally, with a particular focus on supporting women through the peri-menopause transition.

This stage of life is often framed as decline.
In my work, it is a powerful initiation — when women are invited to listen more deeply and lead more truthfully from the body.

I’m currently opening an online women’s circle starting February 24, designed to support embodied change during this transition.

If this aligns with your work, values, or personal journey, feel free to reach out.

Over the years, working as a psychotherapist and educator, I’ve noticed the same threads in many women’s stories.

Are these our collective wounds?
Are trauma, grief, abandonment, abuse truly ours alone —
or something we feel and understand together, in our bodies and our hearts?

And if healing is the answer, is it something we do quietly, alone,
or something that grows stronger when shared?

This is why I started my podcast, What Would the Matriarchy Do?

A space to speak, to listen, to ponder — to explore how we evolve together,
and how curiosity, reflection, and honest inquiry are the quiet work of building a new system.

A place to sit with complexity, honour our experiences,
and imagine what it looks like when women lead with care, wisdom, and presence.

Listen, reflect, and share if this feels like something you’ve been waiting for
