Here are a few simple ways to take care of yourself during this time:

Stay indoors as much as possible, especially if you have asthma, heart conditions, are pregnant, or have young children.

🏠 Create a clean-air space at home
Keep windows and doors closed and, if you have one, run an air purifier. Even a split system on “recirculate” can help.

😷 Wear a mask outside
A P2/N95 mask offers better protection if you need to be outdoors.

💧 Stay well hydrated
Drink plenty of water to help your body cope with the extra stress smoke places on your system.

🌿 Support your body
Gentle stretching, calm breathing and reducing strenuous exercise outdoors can help protect your lungs.

❤️ Listen to your body
If you notice worsening shortness of breath, chest tightness, dizziness or headaches, seek medical advice.

The Nervous System relies on adequate fluids to regulate body temperature, support brain function and manage stress. When we’re dehydrated it can contribute to fatigue, headaches, irritability, dizziness and a feeling of being ‘wired or wiped out.’
Sipping water regularly, rather than waiting until you feel thirsty, helps take some of the load off your Nervous System during heat waves like we’re currently experiencing ☀️🥵
