Could dysbiosis be causing your ill health?

An imbalance in the gut’s microbiome can have implications for many body systems, not just the digestive system. In fact, dysbiosis doesn’t just occur in the gut.

Other areas of our body owe healthy function to the symbiotic relationship between you and a variety of microbiomes that exist in the GI tract, on your skin, in the urogenital region, and even your immune system.

The symptoms you have could be highlighting a related microbiome imbalance. Here are some of the indicators that could be giving you clues:

😔 Tooth decay, bleeding gums, bad breath.

😔 Bloating, belching, abdominal pain, changes in bowel movements, nausea.

😔 Painful urination, unusual discharge, rashes, itching.

😔 Acne, psoriasis, atopic dermatitis.

😔 Fatigue, irritability, mood swings, can’t concentrate, anxiety, depression.

To find out exactly what’s going on for you and how best to approach treatment it’s always a good idea to check in with your health care provider.

If you suspect dysbiosis is part of the picture, microbiome testing is available. Find out more by contacting Margaret at Integrated Health Solutions.

Maintaining optimal gut function means not only keeping the physical structures and processes of your digestive system healthy, it also requires caring for the inhabitants of your gut.

Here are 3 tips for recovering from mild dysbiosis and restoring healthy balance in your gut flora.

🌸 Take probiotic supplements if you are on a course of anti-biotics.

🌸Eat fresh fruit and vegetables every day, and consider including pre-biotic foods such as legumes, barley, garlic, oats, bananas, and potatoes.

🌸Exercise daily and actively engage in stress-reduction practices.

Are you experiencing culture shock?

Dysbiosis is the scientific term for an imbalance in the populations of the micro-organisms living in your gut.

The imbalance could be showing up as a sudden population growth in one of micro-organisms, or a sudden die-off in one of them, or as a loss of diversity in the population of micro-organisms
Things that can set off a die-off include medications, caffeine, stress, high intake of fast foods and dense high-fat foods, and illness.

Things that can trigger a population explosion include the die-off of the other micro-organisms, a diet rich in the “favourite” nutrients of one or more (such as sugar and yeast), medications, and a slowing down of waste passing through the gut.

There are many factors contributing to gut health. One of the biggest factors, one that we don’t often think about, is keeping the micro-organisms living in our gut happy.

The microbiome is an ecosystem of bacteria, viruses and yeasts living happily in your large intestine, and some extent the small intestine. When these guys are living in harmony with each other and you, your gut is the factory that produces good health in high volume and distributes it to all parts of your body.

What happens when the harmony is disrupted?

You know the old saying “prevention is the best cure”? It applies to constipation as well as other health and wellbeing challenges.

When it comes to supporting regular, healthy bowel action, prevention is definitely the most sensible approach. It’s easy too. In fact, you’re probably already doing what’s needed, you may just need to tweak a few things.

To help you out, my top 5 tips for relieving constipation naturally are:
💩Increase your fibre intake—because fibre absorbs water which helps soften your stools.

💩 Yoga—talk to your yoga teacher about specific poses for digestive health.

💩Abdominal massage—you can do this yourself and it really helps to keep things moving.

💩Walking—a brisk one, for only 30 mins every day.

💩Daily exercise—anything that gets your blood moving and gently elevates your heart and breathing rate.

Hi all,
I want to do a book review on a book called Invisible Woman. Written by a women who shares her lived experience with chronic disease. But this book doesn't just tell a story of suffering, realisation and healing.
Invisible Woman can show all of us a way out. Linda's chronic disease was Fibromyalgia, however in reading this book I relies that it can be used as a guide for any chronic disease that we are living with on a daily basis.
The tools in this book are practical, resourceful and used regularly make changes that improve all aspects of our life. Invisible Woman shows us how to reclaim our power without having to opt out of our lives.
I use this book every day for myself and my practise as a support in healing the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual parts of ourselves that get injured in our day to day world. This is a wonderful read and a perspective on our health we can't afford to ignore anymore.
I invite you to read the Invisible Woman and rediscover your best self.
Invisible Woman is Written by Linda Emslie and can be purchased from her directly, Amazon, and Lovlali.com.au Linda is also running book signings and workshop this weekend. Please look on Lovlali.com for times.
I hope you all enjoy the read as much as I have.
Love and Light
Margaret
