🎉 Happy International Women’s Day!

Today we’re celebrating the incredible women who power our organisation and community. As one of Newcastle and the Hunter region's leading disability support businesses, we’re proud to be building a workplace where women truly thrive.💜

We’re thrilled to share that women now make up 72% of our team - well above many national benchmarks and aligned with care and support sector statistics. 🥰

This year's theme is: Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls. Newcastle and the Hunter are full of strong, talented women shaping the future - and we’re proud to stand alongside them.✨

What an incredible day at Newcastle Town Hall today, celebrating International Women’s Day!

Our two executive leads pictured here, Natalie Butler and Amanda Saunders, want to say a huge thank you to Collective Gen for having us along. Our team left energised and inspired!

We were especially thrilled to hear from the remarkable Cathy Freeman, who in 2000 became the first Australian Aboriginal person to win an individual Olympic gold medal when she claimed the 400m title at the Sydney Games.

It was also wonderful to catch up with our close business partners, and it is always great to reconnect with the people who help drive our shared impact in Newcastle.✨

Keep the IWD momentum going, and explore how we champion inclusion and support in our community and create opportunities across our programs.

Here’s to lifting women up today and every day. 💜 Read more about our services at www.connectability.org.au, www.earlylinks.org.au and www.findingyellow.org.au

Happy Feel Good Friday!✨
One of our customers Dean from our local supported independent living home had an unforgettable time at Newcastle Pro Wrestling’s “Breakout” event recently! 🤼‍♂️

As a huge Cobra Kai fan, Dean loves practising his spin moves and air punches💥 so seeing live wrestling at Bowling Club was right up his alley. He was completely captivated by every match and even scored a photo with one of the wrestlers at the end! 🤩

When we asked if he’d like to go again, Dean signed a big YES! 🙌

Next stop: “Brawl at City Hall” on Friday 13 March 2026 at City Hall — and he can’t wait! 🏛️

We love seeing Dean engage in experiences that bring him joy and match his passions 💜

✨ Our next FREE Baby Foundations Physio‑Led Clinic Is Coming!

The next intro session is happening on 4 March at the BCP Hub, Warners Bay - and we'd love to see you there! 💜

Curious about our upcoming 5‑week Baby Foundations course, every Wednesday from 8 April until 6 May? This is the perfect chance to come along, meet Ange Hamilton our APA‑registered Paediatric Physiotherapist, and chat with our in‑house Paediatric Dietitian during a relaxed Q&A. You’ll be able to ask all your questions about baby movement, play, feeding and early milestones 👣🥣

💜 Simple, practical tips you can use every day
💜 Support your baby’s movement, play & development
💜 Build confidence and connection from the very beginning
👉 Book your free spot or find out more at: https://www.stickytickets.com.au/babyfoundations/events

If you’re seeing this and have a mumma in mind with a baby under 12 months, why not gift her the full 5‑week program for just $250? It’s the gift every new mumma actually needs — and far more helpful than the mountain of on‑sale nappies she’s already stocked up on.😉💜

We’ve had a great few weeks as each of our teams tried on our new ConnectAbility uniforms, brought to each of our locations across for fittings by the amazing Lisa from Totally Workwear Newcastle (We also appreciate you taking time out to pose for these pictures, Lisa!)

We’re excited for our community to start spotting our new uniforms out and about - making it easier than ever to recognise our ConnectAbility team.🙌 For more information on ConnectAbility and our growing organisation, please visit connectability.org.au, earlylinks.org.au and findingyellow.org.au

Dietitian Josie joined us at playgroup last week for a relaxed and supportive chat with families about children’s nutrition 🍎

One mum shared concerns about her child not wanting to eat green vegetables. Josie provided some gentle, practical tips around keeping mealtimes pressure-free and supporting children to explore new foods in their own time. She was also able to reassure the family that their child’s overall diet sounded balanced and appropriate.

Josie will be available at playgroup over the next two weeks, so feel free to pop in for a chat and ask any questions you have about your child’s eating. 🥦

Details:
📅 Thursdays (during the school term)
⏰ 9:30–11:00 AM
📍 Maitland Presbyterian Church
✨ FREE – proudly supported by Playgroup NSW (thank you for helping make these special mornings possible!)

Tag your friends, bring the kids, and come along for some playgroup fun! 🤸
