✨ Nourish Your Joints with Homemade Bone Broth ✨
One of the most traditional healing foods… and for good reason.
Bone broth is rich in minerals, collagen, and amino acids that support joint health, gut health, immune function and overall vitality.
It’s simple, nourishing and incredibly versatile.
🥕 Ingredients
• 1kg beef bones OR 2 chicken carcasses + 500g extra chicken bones (wings, legs or neck) – organic if possible
• 1 onion
• 2 carrots
• 2 celery sticks
• 3 bay leaves
• 1 tsp peppercorns
• 2–3 garlic cloves
• 1–2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
• Water
🍲 Method
1️⃣ If using fresh bones, roast them in the oven at 180°C for 30 minutes first (this adds amazing flavour). If using leftover roast bones, simply pop them straight into the pot.
2️⃣ Roughly chop the veggies and add to a large pot or slow cooker with the garlic, bay leaves, peppercorns and apple cider vinegar.
3️⃣ Add water to cover everything and bring to a boil.
4️⃣ Reduce to a gentle simmer and cook:
• Chicken: 12–24 hours
• Beef: 24–48 hours
Skim off any froth that rises to the top. You can top up with water if needed.
5️⃣ Once finished, cool and strain the broth. Season with a little sea salt.
6️⃣ Store in the fridge for up to 1 week or freeze for up to 3 months.
🌿 How to enjoy it
• Sip it warm as a healing tonic
• Add miso, ginger, herbs or shallots for extra flavour
• Use as a base for soups, curries and casseroles
• Cook grains like risotto in it for a nutrition boost
A beautiful, traditional way to support your body from the inside out.
