When new resident Helen walked into Rita’s room at Arcare, she never expected to be reunited with her primary school friend from 1945. 💜
After realising Rita was the same “Rita Gunn” she knew from The Sacred Heart Primary School, the two embraced with excitement, rekindling a friendship that began over 75 years ago.
Their story is a heartwarming reminder of the connections, joy, and surprises that can blossom in aged care. 🌸
And when asked what advice she’d give to others moving into aged care, Rita shared: “Introduce yourself to the other residents, go to activities and meet new people. Just do and be yourself - it is easy to make new friends and keep active.”
