Be Centre Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting children, young people and families impacted by emotional, behavioural, and mental health difficulties. A child is reported abused or neglected in Australia every two minutes, and every day the most vulnerable children and their families depend on Be Centre’s services. Be Centre provides a safe, therapeutic, confidential and caring environment to help children make sense of situations and events, explore and express their feelings, restore trust and build self confidence. Be Centre also offers parent counselling and skills courses to ensure the children get the support they need at home. We work with children, families, organisations and government and are continually expanding our services to meet increasing demand. We are dedicated to early intervention, stopping cycles of harm and helping children heal from difficulties and trauma so they can create a brighter future.

Play Therapy is a therapeutic approach that taps into children’s most natural means of learning and expression – play.

Unlike traditional counselling, Play Therapy does not rely on words and speech since children’s cognitive abilities and verbal skills are still developing.

Using play as a medium, kids can more easily express and work through emotions and experiences in a safe space that’s centred on them. This allows them to feel encouraged, accepted and free.

These are the principles of Play Therapy that underpin the therapeutic approach of our team here at Be Centre. Through these principles, the real healing happens.

Recently, we were very lucky to take part in an insightful and fun day with the incredible team at Leading Edge Professional Development.

Through this unique equine experience, members of our team were able to reflect on their own leadership and communicative styles and abilities, learning through theory, models and tools provided throughout the session.

This was an incredibly insightful experience, that allowed for a deeper reflection and sense of self-awareness in the areas of leadership, communication and approach within a team.

The work that the amazing team at Leading Edge Professional development is truly transformational.

Today is World Mental Health Day.

The overall objective of World Mental Health Day is to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world and to mobilize efforts in support.

As a children's mental health charity, we face the statistics that are hard to hear and even harder to see. But here at Be Centre we strive to better these statistics and make a real change, by working with children alongside their families to equip them with the tools they need to face the adversity that they have experienced.

With your help, we are able to support these children and families through Play Therapy, and help change lives, and slowly change these statistics.

On a day like today, there is never a better time to reflect on your own mental health, and think how can you help better it, or help someone else better theirs ❤️

Warm up your swing and get excited because next Tuesday, 30th September is our Annual Charity Golf Day!

We are very excited and would like to thank the incredible sponsors and supporters who have made this day possible.

They have gone above and beyond to support Be Centre and the children and families we support and we could not be more grateful. If you get the opportunity, please return their kindness and generosity by choosing their services and products, rewarding their good with good!
