🌿✨ Community Adventure – Friday Fun Club! ✨🌿

On Friday our Friday Fun Club crew headed off on a fantastic day of exploration and connection in our beautiful local region.

We made our way to Budj Bim National Park, where participants completed the Crater Rim Walk. The views were incredible, and it was a great opportunity to build fitness, confidence and teamwork while taking in the unique landscape.

After the walk, we travelled to Tae Rak Aquaculture Centre at Lake Condah. We enjoyed a picnic lunch and drink from the cafΓ© before exploring the lake area, eel traps and eel tanks.

To finish the day, we checked out the Australian Sheep Dog Championship in Koroit.

Days like these are about more than just having fun, they’re about building life skills, community connection, independence and confidence. πŸ’š

Well done to everyone who participated! πŸ‘

We’re so excited to share that Tamika, Mel and Rhianna, 3 of our amazing Employment Support participants have now completed the work experience component of their Intro to Hospitality Skills (CafΓ©) program, and what an achievement it’s been! πŸ‘πŸ’ͺ

Over the past few weeks, they’ve stepped outside their comfort zones, built real cafΓ©, and customer service skills, and grown in confidence with every shift. From taking orders and making coffees to food preparation and working as part of a team, they’ve shown commitment, resilience, and a fantastic attitude throughout.

Work experience is a big milestone, it’s where learning meets real world practice, and we couldn’t be prouder of how they represented themselves. 🌟

A huge thank you again to Brophy Family & Youth Services for delivering such a meaningful and empowering program that creates genuine pathways to employment for young people in our community. πŸ™ŒπŸ’š

Our Life Skills crew have been busy the past couple of weeks, making the most of the sunshine and keeping busy with a mix of learning, movement, and fun 🌞

In the kitchen, participants have been building their confidence by practising safe knife handling skills while peeling and cutting fresh fruit and vegetables to create a yummy, healthy treat πŸ₯‘πŸ₯•πŸŽ

We also loved our visit to the Warrnambool Community Garden, where we learned about the incredible work they do, the volunteer opportunities available, and how the space brings the community together 🌱 We’re really looking forward to volunteering throughout the year and being part of such a welcoming environment.

With the Australian Open buzz in the air, everyone embraced the challenge of trying something new, picked up a racquet and got right into the spirit of things with a hit of tennis 🎾

A busy couple of weeks filled with sunshine, new skills, community connection, and plenty of smiles πŸ’š

Over the past month, our participants have been out and about enjoying the fresh air, staying active, and connecting with the community. From regular walks and exercise at Lake Pertobe and the Breakwater, to exploring beautiful local attractions like Hopkins Falls and the Grasslands Trail, it’s been a great month of movement and outdoor fun.

We’ve also loved getting involved in local community events, including the Model Train Show, Kite making and the Hole in One competition, giving participants opportunities to socialise, try new experiences, and build confidence in inclusive community settings πŸš‚β›³

These activities support wellbeing, independence, and meaningful community participation, and most importantly, lots of smiles and great memories 😊

Our participants had an amazing time today attending Fishcare Victoria’s FREE β€œCome and Try Fishing” session 🎣

With all equipment supplied and support from the fantastic Fishcare Victoria team, everyone had the chance to learn about fishing rules, sustainable practices, and even try their hand at catching a fish! 🐟

It was wonderful to see confidence grow, new skills learned, and lots of smiles along the way. Activities like this are a great way to build community connections, enjoy the outdoors, and try something new in a supportive and inclusive environment πŸŒŠβ˜€οΈ

A big thank you to Fishcare Victoria for making this experience so welcoming and accessible.

Yesterday marked session 2 of the Intro to Hospitality Skills (CafΓ©) program for three of our amazing Employment Support participants, and they are already smashing it! πŸ’ͺπŸ‘

They’re building confidence, learning real cafΓ© skills, and getting hands on experience in a supportive and welcoming environment. From coffee making basics to work ready skills, it’s been fantastic to see their enthusiasm and confidence grow with each session.

We’re so proud of the effort they’re putting in and can’t wait to see how they continue to develop over the coming weeks. 🌟

A huge thank you to Brophy Family & Youth Services for delivering such a valuable program that opens doors to employment and new opportunities for young people. πŸ™ŒπŸ’™

Our participants enjoyed a wonderful outing to Flagstaff Hill Maritime Village this morning as part of our Community Inclusion Program.

Participants followed a map of the Maritime Village, identifying key shops and landmarks throughout the site. They engaged in an informative talk from a volunteer and took part in a creative craft activity held in the Charter House.

To wrap up the day, participants reflected on their experience by writing about the excursion and completing a picture collage. A fantastic day of learning, exploration, and community connection!

Our Life Skills participants had the best time taking part in the Aurora Surf Summer by the Sea experience this morning! From exploring the shoreline and learning how dunes, tides and waves shape our coastline, to searching for natural treasures and building nature inspired sandcastles, there were smiles all around. πŸ–οΈβœ¨

The session was the perfect mix of fun, adventure, and learning about caring for our beautiful coast. Our participants loved getting outdoors, trying something new, and connecting with nature in such a hands on and meaningful way.

A big thank you to the fantastic facilitators for creating such a safe, engaging and memorable experience. πŸ–οΈ 🌊
